The homerun derby that is the 2019 twins season continued lastnight! Holy cow is this team fun to watch! First time in MLB history a team had multiple 5 homerun games before June 1st.

to bad Berrios couldn't get that last out in the bottom of the 5th to get the win. 15 runs and he couldn't get there. bummer!!!!

I'm pumped that they are doing so well.  I actually enjoy watching the games and have already been to a game at the ballpark.  I might try to go to a few more.

They sure had the long ball working again yesterday with 8 HR's. They hit .326, had 37 extra base hits, & outscored the opponents 67-27 on the road trip.

been a fun ride so far. Its going to be hard to sustain this pace and keep winning like this but I hope they can keep it up.

I was expecting this team to be better this year, but not to have their best 50 game start in team history! I certainly didn’t expect them to have the 2nd highest homerun total in MLB history! Where is this power coming from all of a sudden?

 

Last year I thought it was an absolute crime that Tampa Bay’s Kevin Cash didn’t win manager of the year. If things keep on going with the twins, then Baldelli should be the unanimous choice! If not, I will boycott MLB...which is an empty threat, because I know darn well I’ll be back to watching baseball the next season.

I see where the Twins are #1 right now in the power rankings. not that I hold a lot of stock in that!!!!!!!!

Some 23 year old lefty that they got from LA in the Dozier trade pitched 6 strong innings last night.

Another good effort from Gibson in the win against TB yeterday, going for 3 in a row today with Odorizzi. Gonzales & Buxton were the heroes with the bats.

Twinks got jobbed in the ESPN power rankings this week.

I've seen the power rankings and I think the Twins have been right around 4th almost every week.  I'm not sure what sort of metrics they are using to formulate those rankings but I suspect its has more to do with size of market and star power than anything.  Win percentage and run differential don't seem to be a factor like you think it would. Either way it really doesn't matter.  

 

Twins could easily have 12.5-14.5 game lead on the division by the weekend.

Right now its so easy to look far ahead to the end of the season. At this point I just hope they don't end up like the 2001 Mariners.

 

Week after week I keep saying they cant sustain this pace they are playing at but they just keep on winning. 

 

The Kimbrel and Keuchel additions are intriguing for sure. On one hand I say go for it, but on the other hand if they haven't been picked up yet they maybe they are not worth the asking prices. I would prefer if either sign with the Twins they do a pro-rated deal for this season instead of a big money multi-year contracts.

I think we all keep expecting and waiting for the drop off.  They are playing dang near .700 ball and we all know that they probably won't keep that up.  

 

I do like the idea of making the additions of Kimbrel and Keuchel but it depends on the deal.  A one year prorated deal makes sense for the team but will either of them want to do that and go back into the off season as free agents again?  Maybe the Twins would be willing to overpay for a 1 year deal. I think that might make the most sense.  You might overpay this year but it allows you to beef up your pitching staff without losing any assets in a trade and it doesn't hurt your ability to sign players next year.

The rookie only gave up 5 hits but 4 were homers.  Lindor had 2 for the Tribe & that was pretty much the game. Rosario & Gonzales were the only ones who did much for the Twins.
