  2. Certainly looks like more of a Saltwater feature, what with requiring an external add on device.
  3. Lead is down to 4 games. Oh boy!
  4. It's not a useful function for anyone that is operating a boat that it would be completely abnormal to have radar mounted on it. It's also pointless anywhere in this state except possibly superior.
  5. One crazy story while up in LOTW... When you fish a week up there for Muskies something pretty crazy will happen but this year was among the most fascinating experiences that I have had.... We are fishing a weedy spot on an Island and all of the sudden I see a tanker swimming parallel to the boat about 10 yards out (BTW, I have never seen that up in LOTW before). First I thought I was seeing things, took a second and third look and then yelled "there is a huge Musky swimming out in front of us". The Musky went straight to my brothers Top Raider and hammered it! All of us saw it. My brother fought it for a while and it shook free. So this experience got me thinking if the Muskies are really turned on can their strike zones be that large? I am estimate that fish swam more that 10 yards to intersect with that bait! Maybe it was just cruising and by luck it happened? I sure seemed that the Musky was focused on eating that Top Raider .... so maybe the Strike Zone is that large or much larger than I thought...

  7. The whitewater rafting was decent. Low level class 1-3 but still enjoyable. River and Trail Outfitters at Harpers Ferry. Now sitting in the Guide House, a local favorite established by one of the veteran rafting guides. Having a Duck Rabbit Brewery Milk Stout and ready to dig in to a fine bowl of crab mac. Yes. Yes I did fall out of the raft in one of the rapids. It’s was pretty fun!
  8. How many people are still fishing out of a 14 foot Lund?
  9. Seems kinda pointless for about 99.9999% of people that are just fishing some dumb lake in their 14 foot lund.
  10. Whats everyone's thoughts on this new feature? https://www.navionics.com/usa/blog/post/ais-in-the-boating-app/
  11. What you are doing is even better than what they hope to achieve with the law. I do the same thing. My minnows never see lake water while in my possession except while riding on a hook. It is not possible to transfer invasives via my minnows or minnow container unless they came from the bait shop and the result would be same either way. This brings up a good question. Aren't minnows trapped in lakes and streams? They could contain microscopic versions of invasive species and therefore be responsible for transporting them to every lake where the minnows are used. Even those raised in rearing ponds are potential threats if the rearing ponds become infected. Unfortunately, it is impractical (not impossible) for a CO to know that my minnows have not been in the lake. He would have to take my word for it. As a result, unless they catch me taking my aerated minnow cooler from my boat to my truck, ....
  12. I see they got Eddie & Cron back last night but now Buxton's out again. It didn't help though as they played a sloppy game & beat themselves.
  13. Work related travel. Never been to the northeast before and wanted to experience it as much as possible so I drove and took a couple extra days. Original plans had me touring some stuff in the DC area but its been a little more difficult and expensive to wander about than I’d hoped. Get me to some water!!!
  14. Most of the fish I've caught out of the abyss were caught just above the thermocline or high in the water column (1'-15' down). A friend of mine once caught a 31" hog walleye on a top raider over 100'+ of water. That's just one of the many hogs to come into my boat that were 0'-5' under the surface in mega deep water. So, keep your lures above the kill zone on slot lakes and you'll still get bit.
  15. To young to be retired whats up with all this Wandering? Didn't you just come back from Musky fishering?
  16. Walked the Inner Harbor a bit, ate soft shell crab and took in an Oriole’s game at Camden Yards today. Oh, and finally booked a SHORT trip on Erie to catch on the ride home. Better than nothing. White water rafting tomorrow will have to do for my most significant Maryland experience. This put a little chill on me when I noticed what it was. It’s a nice place to visit, but... you know the rest.
  17. Last week
  18. Tried my hand at making Nashville hot chicken last night. It didn't turn out exactly like I expected but it was still good.
  19. Great fish @Lals! You sound like we did on the way home from our trip - analyzing every fish we didn’t hook up or keep hooked after they bit. I didn’t get any joy from a Top Raider either but live chucking them. Thanks for the report!
  20. Just came back from LOTW. Numbers were down but not bites. I was a miserable 6 for 15 fish on. 75% of the bites came on the figure 8, I mostly tried to set back into them and they would come "unbuttoned " pretty quickly. Next year, I will try pulling them around or if they bite up in the corner of my figure 8, I would then pull the rod straight back trying to set it in the corner of their mouth. Smaller bucktails got the most bites. Cranks did pretty well too -- 7" Slammers and Crane Bait. One friend got a 48 on a Top Raider. I had a 4 -5 large fish follow a top raider or a jackpot but none bit. My brother got a 50" on a Mepps Musky Marabou.
  21. The problem with fishing walleye below 35' is that whatever you catch you best be planning to keep. Bringing them out of that depth will kill them for sure no matter how slowly it is done.
  22. 23. I had this exact model for many years and it even ran for several years after my wife ran straight gas in it and seized it up one day when I wasn't home. After it cooled down and I replaced the gas in the tank with mixed fuel, it started right up but always had a knock after that.
  24. I came through Pennsylvania to get here at least and there isn’t a Maryland forum so here goes: I have a couple extra days later this week and a car to go wherever. I’ve been looking for a guide or charter to get on the water but am having more trouble than expected. The Chesapeake Bay charters for stripers run up to 6 in a group but don’t mix groups so jumping on an unfilled boat doesn’t seem to be an option. I’ve been working with one captain willing to try but no dice yet. I could have the whole boat to myself for $600 I suppose... So anyway, is there anyone who has a suggestion, contact, or even a boat in the Maryland area for ANY kind of fishing? Honestly I’m pretty open but would prefer something coastal. Have car, will travel. I talked to a guy with a sweet jet boat at The Point of Rocks on the Potomac yesterday but he doesn’t guide. But that could be an option too. Might head to Niagara Falls after I’m done in Baltimore so NY state so there’s another one. Yep, this is an official Wanderabout.
  25. Tonight I caught crappie, bass, big bluegills, rock bass, pike and a snapping turtle.... All after 11pm! Try it sometime, tiny black jigs for big nocturnal bluegills. Loud Black topwaters for Pike n bass. Bring extra flashlight batteries and bug spray, lots of bug spray!!!
  26. I will take it where are you located ? Will be gone next week fishing be back week of 22nd. I am using a 80's model lawnboy push for trimming be nice to have a backup newer model.
  27. I have caught fish on the slide diver but I don’t notice any difference from the regular Dipsey diver and they are a pain in the one-just-like-silly-me to set up. I have Dipsy’s in all kinds of different colors and I can’t tell if that makes a difference either. I have one that actually will glow in the dark
