Just Me
Nice job carl. Id like to mention to ALL who have AA.I have a set of Red & Black. Watch the velcro strip on the cargo pocket of the bibs. Make sure the pocket is covering the velcro strip or it WILL rub a hole in the inside linning of the jacket.Other than that...the product is great!! Sorry 4 the spelling. Just Me b safe. Craigums
Its a good product I bought the jacket last year at the ice show and have been satisfied, however I got some oil or something on it that won't come off in the wash
Jim Almquist
Craigums find some orange citrus soap and give that a try. I have done the same thing on a nylon jacket and tried Dawn and every other product made and after all of those the orange soap still removed the oil stain.HSO Arctic Armor Suit @ Outdoor Pro Store
SDbowhunter
I have one complaint about AA.This weekend while out fishing I realized that there is a little metal gromment where the hood string goes through and when cinched up the grommet contacted my face.Other then that I absolutely love it. harvey lee
To clean ones suit, I use fel napha bar soap and run it into the suit and wash it off with a damp rag. Really cleans up the lighter suits.
vikingmeatwad
I went with the Carhartt as I want to use something more durable for working outside when cold.I would hate to tear up the AA and wanted something that felt much more durable.I do bet the AA is more comfortable though. Shack
Vikingmeatwad, I was saying the same thing about CH last year on FM after buying an Extreme set of bibs and jacket. The only "extreme" I have found with this suit is the lack of comfort. When a CH suit becomes comfortable, it pretty much has to be worn out. I also do not know who designed the Extreme CH bibs, but they sure did not have ice fishing or men in mind . Let's just say when you need to go , you pretty much have to take the whole suit off. Another 3-4" on the bib zipper would have been nice . After using this suit for almost 2 ice season's and it being the same price pretty much as the AA suit, I needed to make a change. I will be straight forward; I did not want to fish one more season in a CH suit after the reviews from the members and staff here at FM. Speed up to today and all I can say is WOW! After owning and using an Arctic Armor Plus suit for about a month now, I am extremely pleased with how it feels and the comfort it gives me on the ice. Was fishing in below 0 temps on Sunday night and this suit kept me as warm as one can get while loading and being outside. I tell ya, another huge down side to the CH suit is the beating your knee’s take while hole hopping outside. Early and late ice is the worst, as the soaking your knees takes is terrible. I feel having wet knees leads into sore knees. Late ice last season, I found my self unwilling no kneel down to a hole that held fish, after fishing a couple hours in CH suit. Now, with the Arctic Armor suit, the knees have “crazy” padding and are water proof. My knees have never felt better when I go to kneel down to a hole and check the action with my Marcum. I bought mine from Outdoor Pro Store AA Suit Special Offer here at FM. The experience was great, shipping was fast and the advice on sizing was great . My suit fits perfect . If you have any questions on your order here at HOS/FM/IL, you get to deal with the legendary LeeHarvey (Tom). He knows his stuff when it comes to ordering and (lets just say after a couple changes I made in sizing after the order was placed) he was great to deal with . The biggest reason I ordered threw the Outdoor Pro Store AA Suit Special Offer(not to mention if it was not for FM/HSO/IL I would not even know about Arctic Armor) was that HSO crest on the chest of the parka: I find it very cool, but I have also found it as a great conversation piece with people out on the lake and in the bait stores in the little time I have owned my suit. Just last Sunday before fishing I stopped in a bait store by the area I was fishing and the younger man helping me get the bait commented about the logo on my jacket. We started to talk about HSO/FM and how cool of a site it was. Let’s just say my half dozen suckers turned into more than a half dozen . That shows the true power of HSO. Do yourself a favor and buy your suit right from the source at Outdoor Pro Store AA Suit Special Offer. Support the site that is the reason you, I and everyone else knows about Artic Armor. Pay the same price as anywhere else and get free shipping, AA free gloves and that awesome HSO crest . All for the same great price. Typically with the Plus suit, one needs the next size up to fit well and be easy to put on without those issues. They are a very nice suit if sized correct. Mike Stark
yeah i know...they only issue with that is that the next size up...was going to be WAY too long for me.
Shack
When I wear my Micro fleece Tek Gear suit under the AA on those colds days, I notice some binding when putting it on. What I do is start with the bibs. Undo the bottom snaps, zipper and Velcro on both legs. Slip bibs on and sit down. Pull any of the pant legs from you inner clothing down. Slip your boots on and adjust and fasten the Velcro, zipper and snaps. When it comes to the Parka/Jacket, undo the Velcro wrist straps, grip the sleeve of your under suit/clothes with your palm and slide one arm threw at a time. Then tighten Velcro straps at wrist. Just as quick as any other jacket or bibs with thick layers under and a cloth/fleece inside. If I wear just jeans and regular shirt under my AA Plus suit, they slide on just like any other suit. catfishkid
I was just wondering if anybody has trimmed off the fabric inside the bibs.I believe that it is supposed to be there to keep wind out, but it was always just in the way as i never used it. I am much happier now that a scissors accidentally fell and trimmed it off. oops much easier to get the bibs on and zipped now.
harvey lee
NO, I have not and wonder how you may affect the intregity of the suit?
Deitz Dittrich
Tom, I am guessing he trimmed the fabrick on the inside at the bottom of the pant legs.. I doubt that would hurt the floatation of the outfit. It can be tough to get on if in a hurry.. but I like it as it keeps drafts away from my lower legs.. PerchJerker
I was just wondering if anybody has trimmed off the fabric inside the bibs You're talking about the velcro tightening system inside the legs, right? I just leave mine open, ie. I don't fasten the velcro. They aren't in the way and don't slow me down.
FL SNIPER
Ya...those velcro deals at the bottom of the pants are my only complaint....and a small one at that. I bought these pants earlier this winter and like them. I like the padded knees for playing tip ups...plus they are water proof.
DTro
I always use the "gaiters" at the bottom of the leg. They keep out the slush. I sure wasn't complaining about being toasty warm out on the driveway moving snow last night. Arctic Armor - Click Here to See it. FREE Gloves - FREE SHIPPING - FAST DELIVERY - IT FLOATS. FISHINGURU
i put the gaiters inside my boot and put the main suit on the outside of my boot...takes like 2 seconds.update on my buckle strap problems on the bottom legs of my suit...i returned the suit to where i bought it with no questions asked and got a brand new set of bibs...i've worn those about 25-30 times now with no problems. Sandmannd
I agree, love the gaiters. Put them in your boots. Keeps you warmer and dryer.
BK19
when i bought mine they told me the gaiters go on the outside of the boot seems to work for me
catfishkid
I did try to use the gators, but with the strap on the outside there is no need for it. I did cut only the material on the inside about a quarter inch from the stitching. no problems with the insulation being damaged. Its not that big of a problem, but why deal with it. just my .
river runt
Does any one konw if the coat alone would float a man or do you need the bibs on ? RR
Sandmannd
Does any one konw if the coat alone would float a man or do you need the bibs on ? RR Each piece is designed to float you seperatly. Now if you're just wearing the bigs you might float rear end up but you would still float. I can't remember exactly but I think if you have the whole suit it will float either 500 or 700 lbs and I think it's the latter. If you get just the jacket it will float you fine.
