nluchau
My opener wasn't very good since I am spending it at work. Earliest time I will get out is next Friday. I would be happy to read some reports though.
eyepatrol
Pretty tough. 8hrs of fishing and a 16.5" and 15" to show for it. Released a 2lb+/- LM bass and missed two other fish. Caught fish on jig/minnow, but also tried long-lining, cranks, rattletraps, plastics, more plastics, leeches and fished depths from 2' - 16'. And, caught one fish in 2fow and the other in 16fow. Nonetheless, even with the cold, wind, and rain, it was AWESOME to be out! That's the most fishing hours I've put in in about 2 years!
The_Duckslayer
Since the boat is still in it's winter resting place my son and I just went out to a couple of local lakes and fished from the landing docks for a couple of hours. We caught about a 18 walleye's, a crappie, a perch and a northern.Um, er, ah, did I mention that at 11 inches the northern was the BIGGEST fish of the day. Was great to be out and spend some time with my son though! Much more fun to catch and release than to sit there and watch the cork float. Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo
bigb56303
fishing was slow 1 walleye 15" and a bullhead and then my starting bat died ?? and the trolling motor bat died so i got to drift back to the landing thankfully the wind was going in the right direction
cluelessfisherman
Very good - only fished for about 3 hours before work and after a late wake up, but we boated 9 eyes 14-17", 1 28" pike and 14 perch from 10-13"We were missing a lot of bites so we downsized from 1/4 oz jigs with shiners to 1/8 oz angel eye jigs and fat heads that sealed the deal!! paceman
bigbucks and I had a fun opener. We fished in the Otter Tail country. From 7:00 am to 1:30 pm. ran out of minnows (5 dozen shiners) the perch were crazy. But we did boat 17 walleyes with 10 keepers and a couple of northerns as well. lindy rigging in 12 - 15 ft. walleyedan
Very good action on Gull. Nothing huge, but lots of fish. Most of the fish were in the teens (for depth) and it really didn't matter what you were using as long as your bait was close to them. I think we have enough moisture for now! It looks like another busy, busy season on tap. Good luck to all of you.Walleyedan
picksbigwagon
I got through step 29 out of 97(in 11 hours) on the playground set my wife bought for the kids to play on.....97 steps, good greif
waltinader
It was slow we got one 15 3/4 " and the slot limit was 16" so we had to let that one go.
Sportland_Bait
Busy for us at the bait shop, but the reports have been phenomenal. It was the best opener here in the Nisswa area in many years. Some anglers even had to stop in to get more bait 3-4 times a day. Gull was the lake to be on. Our guides opened on Gull. They said it was busy out there and the fish were snapping. Shiners produced best. Now that I've put in my time at the bait shop I'll finally get out to test the waters this evening.Jason Erlandson

toonfish
Picks....Yeah I just finished one....and get this i finish it and my mom told me she saw something on WCCO about Menards having a recall on the Playstar sets. I hope this is not the one you are in the middle of. I just finished my kids last weekend and the recall was announced this weekend. It was on WCCO, but then I called Menards and they didn't know anything about it????? Couldn't find it on the web either. Who knows!!!! Good Luck!! PerchJerker
We went to Upper Red on Saturday and smacked 'em good all day long. Easy fishing, ridiculous number of walleyes caught, and no crowds where we were (the most boats I saw at any time was 9 and that included the 2 boats in our group). We hit Winnie for about 3 hours on the way home on Sunday and that was good too, 8 walleyes in 1 boat and 5 in the other boat. Openers like this will spoil a guy
Borch
Went out on Sunday night in the St. Cloud area and got my 6 eyes(15-19") trolling cranks. Tossed back several little ones, one 24", plus a 5 lb pike and a couple rock bass. Pretty nice evening.
opsirc
Not a good opener at all, both my boats are down for repairs. Have not been able to work on them with all this rain, plus spent most of the last 3 wks running back and forth to the cities. Plus trying to plan a grad party for my daughter, just not enough time or money to go around. Hoping this weekend I can get some headway on both of them or its going to be a long summer.O

Chris-Neises
My brother in law and I braved the cold rain on a small Metro lake and had a limit of eyes by 9:00. I hated to leave when the bite was that hot, but my fingers were starting to become painful. Note to self: don't forget the gloves again.
mattkimk
My opener was Monday morning. I was on the lake t 6:30, got my 6 and was off by 9:00. Pretty good morning, all fish 15".
Eric Wettschreck
My opener was a drag. Instead of fishing I was sheetrocking the bathroom. There's something seriously wrong with that.
