Stratosman
I agree, fins give it away. Nice catch though!
scsavre
Thats what i was thinking with those fins. A patternless fish. huh
Esox_Magnum
Very common on the waters he was on. I catch several a year on those lakes. Rare though to see many of that size.

kyleharty
This was my first Musky; caught last fall, finally got around to uploading pics. I was by myself so couldn't get great pics and didn't want it out of the water longer to try for anything better.
blakeb
i wanna catch a silver pike so bad, never seen one in person, now sliver pkie i got them down pat!
Lucius
That is a good looking silver pike and good size too. To my understanding from some of the articles I have read, silver pike don't generally get as big as regular northern pike. Again nice fish, I am jealous!! 50inchpig
I like the pics of the fish laying in the grass there, pretty fish. won't give away your spot with photos like that. Here is one my wife caught on sconnie opener last weekend. We were with some friends so I jumped in too, we don't get that opportunity usually. Her red nose isn't from fishing in the sun all day, she just came out for a few hours and got one, like she always does.
thrax
Nice way to open it up in Northern MN - 51.5, caught on topwater and very shallow!! Had another one chomping at a bait for a full cast, same size or larger, mouth open, closed, open, closed, crazy thought I would get it to inhale the bait but just wouldn't do it, too many tickly hooks touching its chin!! tweedlap
thrax,Nice work. Sure is a heavy fish for this time of the year. That is trophy class ski !tweed
thrax
Thx for the nice comments guys! tweed - I agree, for opening day the fish was nicely girthed already, we've seen some other tankers already and talked to a few other guys who are reporting having seen/moved some very large fish also, fat piggy's. Not sure why really, but the early spring and warmer water have got them on the feed, they are eating already and lots of mass on these fish already. Appears some are already hitting the whitey's/cisco's pretty heavy and it shows! Not to be greedy but I wish I had caught the other one too!
