Popular Post johnsd16
My 7 year old got his first gobbler (or anything) on April 23. He missed with his 20 ga on April 17, but kept after it. I have never seen him so excited. bmc, paceman, pumper317 and 8 others

Popular Post Wallydog
I thought this hero shot came out quite nice. Counterpart Mick killed this very nice pure Merriams bird with smokepole in NE Washington Saturday 5/14. He and a jake and 2 hens came in quietly and walked by my blind at 3 feet headed to the Dave Smith Jake decoy I had deployed. But wait there's more........young Sam got to experience it all Sunday morning in NW Washington. Hours of nothingness followed by 45 minutes of mayhem. Yo Yo gobbler, closer then further, closer then further. Finally jake yelps and jake gobbles from my Heart of Dixie Dixie Diamond 2 diaphragm must have angered him a bit and here he came in full strut in all his springtime glory. Sam killed his first gobbler at 30 yards as he stood on a white fir dead-fall looking for that hen or jake he had heard. Great moments, great lessons, great shot on this more Rio marked bird. Learned a lot last year in my three days of hunting and got it done my first day this year. That looks like a really big bird. Got any specs for him? Popular Post dukhnt
Finally getting around to submitting the rest of my pics for the contest. The first is the Hero photo taken in NE Nebraska. I brought my stepson down there for his first ever turkey hunt. I did a little write up of the hunt on a different thread. My cousin's husband really put us on the birds. The next three are my non-hero entries. My dad notching his tag. Bringing out our Nebraska birds. When your hunt only last 2 hours you need to find something else to do. A different hunt took place. They just started popping when we were down there. And finally one for the Movie category. I was lucky enough to get my stepson's bird on video. Javan Turkey.MP4 monstermoose78, bmc, ANYFISH2 and 2 others
Scoot
Hero shot of Ryan's NorCal bird. Morgan's 1st turkey- hero shot. I even managed to shoot a bird this year! Hero shot. A non-hero shot from Morgan's hunt. You have to look closely, but you can see the lopped off head, the bolt, and the body of the turkey in this picture. A couple of non-hero shots of Ryan trying to shoot a bird outside of a blind. I've got a video coming from Ryan's NorCal turkey hunt, but it's not put together yet. The guys who hosted us out there are working on it, but it won't be done for a while, so I won't be able to submit it. I'll post it as soon as it's done, but it will be after the deadline. They make some really, really great video's, so I'm sure they'll do a great job on it. BartmanMN, ANYFISH2, bigbucks and 1 other

Popular Post 123fish
This is the bird I called in for my buddy this morning. He saw the decoy at 80 yards and hung up. It took at least twenty minutes of soft clucks and purrs to close to thirty yards where he made the shot. i understood why he was so wary when I saw those spurs. 1.25"each side and really sharp and hooked. true limb hanger. Popular Post 1eyeReD
Late post... Season A on moderately pressured public land. My 3rd season and 2nd gobbler. I've heard before that season A could mean tricky weather, but didn't think we'd have this much snow.... Loud crusty snow. And hunter pressure were a couple of many challenges. But got it done. A season to remember! Bird was about a 2 yr old. 3/4" spurs, 9" beard, guessing 22 lbs.. Felt like he was much more carrying him back a mile to the truck. leech~~, monstermoose78, ZachD and 3 others
