Have a few juncos now, saw a robin fly by, and 1 dove to add to my few purple finches. Oh well, it's a start!

we have had loons here for about a week. It won't last long they will head north as soon  as the lakes open up further up north.

we usually have a pair on the lake every summer, fun to watch them when the chick starts growing!!

We had some nice yellow gold finches yesterday and this morning. I noticed the color change over the last week.

They will really stick out with the white background tomorrow.

Pair of hooded mergansers.

Trio of hen turkeys flying in.

Pair of wood ducks.

 

All within 50 yards of my coffee and Lucky Charms.

The grackles have showed up replaced regular suet feeder with woodpecker only feeder. Haven’t put up blackbird proof sunflower chip feeder yet, but will probably have to pretty soon. I’ll still put out peanuts in shell, because only the blue jays eat them. But will probably have to put away shelled peanut feeder away for spring/summer.

I heard the bears have come out of hibernation so I haven't put any sunflower seeds out in the last 2 weeks and I put out our last chunk of suet 3 days ago. I need to come up with some kind of bear proof feeder.

I had that and the bear figured out it could shake the seed out by pulling the cable up and down. So then I put a suet feeder up there and the bear pulled on the cable smashing the feeder into the branch until it broke.

hmmmm, I thought campers and hunters did it this was. gotta be a way to make it work.

I have hung my food packs when camping and I have never had a problem. I guess the bears around my house are smarter than the average bear.

With this guy hanging around, the mallards, woodies, hoodies, and other birds are no where to be seen. 

I believe this is a red shouldered hawk.

i agree, that picture is worthy of framing and putting on a wall.

just watched a loon eat it's super...  fun to watch them swallow the fish!!    also seeing several very young eagles to..  interesting seeing how they change color as they get older!!

Perhaps if you asked nicely you could get the full resolution file and order a big copy from your photo folks.
