how do I get out of this?

I looked all over the site, but cannot find a way out. I can log out, thats it, but there seems to be no way to delete myself. I changed my e-mail before I said good bye. but still, why cannot I delete me from the site?

upper right of main page/home page screen, click down arrow > security settings > disable account

Keep in mind that they never get rid of your information. If you ever log back on, your account is automatically enabled. I got in during college when it was just a bunch of kids from your school that would share funny pictures. Now it's just a marketing tool and a massive waste of time. Got rid of it a couple years ago.

I agree, it starting to get irritating reading every little thing someone posts. But it is a nice way to keep in touch with the family I have in Norway.

Its easy enough to deal with the annoying people that post every little detail. You can just choose to hide everything they post. They still show up as your friend but none of their status updates show up in your news feed.

Facebook can be a waste of time but remember you choose how much time you put into it.

Facebook works wonders as a marketing tool for a small business. I use it for FREE advertising and it works well.

I deleted all my pictures and put in fake info before i deleted my FB acct.. it took forever to do.. but at least im no longer on that thing

I think facebook is a great way to stay in touch with people you don't see very often. You can look at pictures and statuses. But its annoying when people post all the time.

I agree! It is a great way to keep in touch with old friends, without having to actually talk to them.. But it definitely does get annoying when people overpost!

Facebook is great to catch up with friends that you don't keep in touch with but can be a very big distraction, whether it is in school or with your family.

I did get back on, and of course they did remember all my stuff. I did un-friend some people, like said, they seem to have to let everyone know what they do every minute of there life. I don't care, is a icon that should be available.

I shut down my facebook after reading this forum, since I never looked at it anyways. Now I keep getting anoying pop-ups trying to get me back. Why do they want someone who seldom logged on back so bad. I hated the amount of junk e-mail, junk information, and stupid game invites I got on facebook.

I quit Facebook in December and don't miss it. It's a crutch for the weak minded as Jesse Ventura said about religion. lol. In all seriousness, pick up the phone and call someone. Go out to Legion for dinner with an old friend instead of Facebook to catch up. It's more bragging about what you did and what you're doing everyday to a bunch of people you wouldn't keep in touch with otherwise. I used the deactivate feature and then sent them an e-mail to shut my account down permanently.

lol,I'm up and at em! grabbed my facebook crutches so I can get thru the day... weak mind is getting stronger by the minute... wimps can't handle facebook... LOL
