Great deer everyone!

Our season is 2 weeks old and I just got out for the second time tonight. Usually I can flex my work scheduel and hunt 5-6 mornings or evenings per week. But due to "issues" at work I have been working 9-15 hour days. Oh well, things are clearing up though as the rut is getting going.

This afternoon I had 4 doe come by and this one gave me a nice 12 yarder. My shot was a few inches further back than I wanted. Watched the deer run off 50 yards and lay down, couldnt tell for sure if it was down for good . Snuck out of the stand, got some dinner. Went back and hour later with my dad and some lights. Found it right where it went down...

Good shot. Sure looks like a button buck to me. Isn't that one of the nubbins in front of the left ear? I don't care, just saying it doesn't look like a "doe" to me.

To clarify I'm talking about Dark Cloud's deer.

It was a button. I tend to get caught up calling anything without a rack a doe. grin

Finally after 13 years of bow hunting, passing on many, many small bucks, shooting does, and other "mishaps" got my first decent buck with the bow Saturday night! Not a hog,106" 9 point. 38 yards double lung. A buck we had never seen before, a very memorable night to say the least!
