i was fishing in southcenter lake in chisago and got about 6 to 7 in of ice lots of houses out there.

Aitkin: Blind lake has 8 solid inches of ice as of 12/19/09

O'dowds in SW metro had 8 clear inches 12/20/09 big wheel shacks being pulled out all day. A lot of activity out there!

8-11" of ice on two Park Rapids, MN lakes this past weekend. Saw trucks on two different lakes and a couple of cars on the ice as well...

Hit a couple of lakes this morning but not much biting. The ice report is looking good. Vehicles starting to venture out on pretty much all lakes in the brainerd area and lots of bigger houses popping up on the hard water. I measured 12 inches on North Long, 11 inches on Lake Hubert, and 11 on Round.

Small lake just east of Hackensack had 8-10" of solid ice. Only about 1.5" of snow. Slow bite all weekend.

Lake Marion, in Lakeville, had 10 -12 inches of clear black ice yesterday. Too early for me but there were a couple vehicles out on the ice including a small pickup and a mini-van.

8 inches of great ice on Big Knee Lake just north of 113 in Mahnomen Co (650 acres). Fishing was slow... No size to anything we caught.

Was out on Forest Lake yesterday. Ice was mostly 8-11" with a couple of 6" spots here and there. A few slushy spots but most slush has firmed up.

Found about the same as Flaker. 8 to 11 inches, but I did find a couple of 5 inch spots. Saw a truck out on lake 1 on the south side by the 17ft hole. Yikes!

12-14 inches of good ice in the Ottertail area for the most part. Full size vehicles are driving around.

Fished Green (Isanti Co.) last night and found 7" ice over 24 fow out from point. Saw one small car closer to point and a few cars parked close together on the ice by the access (not too smart!)

I was also on Green Lake last night, and there was a newer full size F-150 extended cab pulling a permanent house. Also a Dogde Durango out there. I was on 9 - 9.5 inches of ice in the channel. He wasn't far from me. Definately to soon for that.

Fish Lake north of Duluth had areas of 9" and some as much as 13". Sleds and wheelers only for now but the big perms are being pulled out by wheelers. If we get some cold people may be driving out by New Years.

Was out on Bald Eagle for a few hours today. 9 inches of good ice where I set up By the reed island. Nothing doing though.

I found favorable ice on a lake I fish frequently in the metro. 12" clear ice, a couple inches of frozen smuts, and a dusting of snow. There was some small vehicle traffic but I played it safe and hoofed it. Probably be driving out this weekend though.
