Bear55
That is a beast no doubt about it. Just goes to show you what a Minnesota buck can produce if you let them grow up.

Shoot2Kill
I really want to hear the full storie behind that one. Anyone have it? I work with a guy who is cousins with this hunter and he was there on Thursday when the buck was shot....not much of a story really from the sounds of it....extremely lucky stand placement that morning and he had the ability to make the shot when it counted! Unbelievable animal for sure....I'd still be grinning from ear to ear if that was me!

Shoot2Kill
what did it score? Currently it's around at 228 - 2 inches more than the current state record. Pretty safe to say it will be the new MN #1 after the 60 day drying period.

Musky Buck
I couldn't resist "can't eat the antlers" just kidding, what a beauty and congrats to that feller and hope he gets the record. I wish I could see all the racks he has sported through the years, if you hear how old the deer is please post for my curiosity.
ANYFISH2
According to Beau Liddell, Little Falls area wildlife manager, the teeth suggest that the buck is 5 years old.
Phunnyfarm
Here's the hunter's quote from the Strib:"I don't want to make too much out of this 'big buck' thing. Bow hunting is important to me. It makes me calm. If I see a red squirrel or a bird fly by, it makes my day. This was a bonus. It's the stuff we dream about as hunters."Now THAT is a hell of a sportsman there! cupper
Agreed. I read that and thought to myself, "That is the type of guy you want to see get a deer like this."Couldn't be happier for him.
Gordie
A guy might have wet his pants after smacking an arrow into that beast Dietz.
