Luckily the vikes get to be on Prime time again sunday night. If the packers only bring thier practice squad, we have a shot! Last night's game left me speechless. Wow, probably the worst game I have ever seen. No doubt the vikes are the worst team in football. Man that dufus coach and staff have to go TODAY!

I was thinking of the same topic heading last night. Wow!

I gotta agree with Grudin though, this was entirely and completely unfair to Freeman. He was put in a situation that was bound to be a huge red slash through his career. Talk about a trial by fire.

His play book was limited to only a few basic running plays, his receivers dropped most of the passes that were essentially catchable, and his running back just kept running into his own o-line on almost every carry.

It certainly wasn't for lack of effort on his part. He threw 50 passed balls! That's more than pretty much any other QB out there in any single game. Albeit, his accuracy was less then spectacular, but there were opportunities. He does have a proven, cannon of an arm. But the pace of this game (at the NFL level) is something he hasn't warmed up to. I hate to say it, but it's probably true, either of our "back-up" quarterbacks could have likely produced more points had they been put in during the second half. But they just kept humiliating the new kid.

Even our secondary had gimme picks that hit em' right on the numbers and they still couldn't catch the ball.

Play calling in the second half made no sense at all. It was erratic at best, and completely spineless. How many 3rd and 1, 3rd and 2 plays did we have when AP was standing on the sidelines? WHAT? Last year's MVP running back, and we don't trust him for a 1 or 2 yard gain???

When your QB is completely green, your receivers can't (or won't?) consistently get open, or pull in a passed ball, where else would you logically go? You've got the premier running back in the league against a mediocre run defense, and he's not even a factor in the game? Really?

I told my wife and kids last night, I've never in my history of following of the Vikings watched a game where I had absolutely no expectations. Nothing. None of it surprised me. Not one bit.

Our state team needs a complete overhaul. Pull the whole engine, along with the drive train, and replace the whole works. Once the mechanics are running like a fine tuned machine, then you can take a look at restoring the chassis. Right now, it's embarrassing to have this machine parked in our driveway.

Freeman, does have a cannon. That is an understatement watching some of those throws he had I felt bad for the receivers trying to catch them. He was way off target, granted I know this is what his 2nd week with the team, but it's not like he came off the street and hadn't been practicing or playing all summer/fall no he was the starter for TB before that. He was just as erratic as all get out. I guess they are possibly committed to seeing what he's got for the rest of the year to see if he is the new franchise QB so I think we'll be seeing a bunch more of him.

Based on last nights game I think I have to revise my pre-season prediction. I origianlly thought the vikes would go 6-10. Now I think we are going to go 0-16. Yes, I realize we've already won a game but after last night I wouldn't be surprised if the NFL retroactively takes away our one win as punishment for playing one of the worst games in NFL history.

I have been trying to think of a group (ie Offensive line, def backs, LBs, etc) that didnt outright embarrass themselves last nite. Not just play bad, but outright embarrass themselves. After much contemplation, I came up with the WRs. I dont think they played great, but there were no terrible drops or awful plays. Udder dan dat, no other group was even marginal.

I will have to say this, I enjoyed the Jared Allen sack a lot. That was a really neat play. I bet that lineman was really confused....But coach, I stayed between my guy and the QB!
