Im actually going to Big Stone for the MN opener!!!! The border water really opens up on the 23rd of this month but can be a tough bite do to weather and ice off. We have caught fish out there using lindys, trolling raps and pitching jigs on the shore lines. I love that we can use two lines and can cover so many depths while in one spot. Will be trying from the shoreline out to 10 feet which is almost max depth for that lake. Hopefully the wind is blowing at a nice speed so we can get the boat to a wind swept shoreline and put the hurt on them. We will be out there by 10 am on Saturday and fish until Sunday night. We will have the lake to ourselves. On Monday we will probably be hitting the metro lakes hard for those first few weeks of prime fishing. Make sure you report your catches from this coming opener and have fun with your fishing buddies!!!

Saturday afternoon I'll be sitting in target field enjoying the twins game! My friend that is from SD has a bachelor party that weekend so no fishing. Doesn't bother me though, it will still be a good time! The Missouri river will be calling my name after that!

Randy,

We should get out again on the St Louis this summer, or better yet, you should take me out on the big lake. I got a couple new trolling rods with line counter reels rigged with lead last year and I am itching to get out on the pond and use them. Regardless of where we go, we are bound to do better than our previous outing on the SLR wink

Heading to Leech for opener. I usually try to avoid opener and spend the weekend looking for morels instead, but a wedding that falls on the weekend after opener (our annual fishing trip) changed our plans. We'll be fishing jigs for sure, the tactic will depend on how active the fish are. Last year snap-jigging with plastics was the key, outfishing live bait 4:1 for us. Hoping for some warmer temps and WIND.

i could tell ya, but then i'd have to kill ya! (he, he)

headin south...really hard to find a limit of eaters up north until after Memorial Day! good time to catch one for the wall though!

Good Luck to all...i will be out around 3am myself! For those relying on leeches, don't forget to pick them up a few days before the 14th!
