Or not. This is the absolute best time of the year to be on the ice for the panfish bonanza. Lots of big fish to be caught through the ice yet. Give it a couple weeks yet, open water will work its way up soon enough.

Spent a lot of time on the ice this year, but switched it up to the rivers about 3 weeks ago. Feels good to be back to open water.

I gotta agree. A lot of lakes I have seen have few or no ice houses on them, and I figure most people are getting ready for opener. I love Ice Fishing, but give me some of that good ol' open water and I'll be as happy as can be =)
