10 Flatheads - 28lbs, 26lbs, 20lbs, 20lbs, 18lbs, 16lbs, 16lbs, 13lbs, couple little guys too.

Little room to improve on the size but what a great weekend.

Whenever the news announces Tornado Warning for Hennepin County, I'm going fishing! Back to back Tornado Warnings and the fish were on fire.

The fish are biting good, but the mosquitos are crazy! I was out last night, and again this am, the river has came up and is rushing and dirty this am! No luck this am.

Ain't that the truth! Mosquitos have been God aweful. I've been wearing my full Arctic Armor suit on the river and the skeeters are flying up the bottom of my pantslegs even. You can't stop them!

The Muskol has gotten a workout but I'm not going back out until I get a Thermacell in the boat as well.

NOT JUST MOSQUITOS!!!

Last night after getting home and jumping into bed, I felt something crawling on my leg. I grabbed what I could only guess was a tick, turned on the light, and sure enough, it was a wood tick! Walked into bathroom to get more lighting and a full inspection, and there was one more on me. Not sure I've ever gotten 2 wood ticks before when catfishing. Man, they must be thick if they're getting to me on the boat!

Nice fish, Chris, sounds like a great weekend. I finally popped the cherry for the year in both categories last night. Man, talk about a late bloomer. I might be late to the party, but that's OK I'll turn it on during the home stretch!

I'm just taking up space in the channel category, don't expect to stay there very long......

The wife and I chased some St Croix channel cats today. I picked up a nice 28" fish that should kick me to the top of the channel board - probably not for very long. I picked up that fish almost at high noon on a bright sunny day on cut bullhead. He just hammered it. We also got a nice 24" channel about 30 minutes later and that was it for the day. I just submitted a KOTC channel cat entry at 28" X 16.5" = 44.5. That should kick my channel cat score to 149.

I'm heading out tonight once all the St Croix Tuna boats get off the water. It was a zoo in the main channel with all the boats this afternoon. I need a few nice flats to get in that race. Hanson's got a big lead going.

We may have a new leader again!!!

Got one tonight at about midnight as we were ready to pack up for the night.

Aanderud got a nice 38 by 22.5 upgrade as well.

4 fish tonight.

All you minnesota river fisherman better look out. Us fargo boys are starting to catch some nice cats. So as soon as i get my kotc hat look out. Just yesterday i released a nice 33" x 20" channel cat on the mighty red and that was a small one.

Don't forget, you can print out a control item. Fashion your own makeshift hat or other item in the interim using the printed item if you'd like Last year Kyle B wrote "KOTC" on a trowable seat cushion using duct tape!

WWG must not be a dedicated enough fisherman. I heard something about work getting in the way this week! Wouldn't you know, right away he gets knocked out of first place! Talk about kicking a guy in the jimmy when he's down! And that's only on Monday. What will the rest of the week bring? With 80-plus pointers swimming the river, I wouldn't say Darren has it wrapped up quite yet! The summer is early! Game on!

I just have to work on my hookset, I'm really starting to get mad at myself. Missed 2 and caught 1 last night, darren caught 2 and missed 1. Doesn't sound like much, but over the course of a summer, going from a 1/3 hook ratio to a 2/3 ratio will equal a LOT of potential KOTC entries!
