ozzie
C-Pep can now get his roll-on in Miami. Sucks to be Miami fans........... Now the Vikes can look for our future QB. So far their off season transactions have been horrible but I guess we will have to see.

james_walleye
I wonder with getting the 2nd round pick for Pep and signing Chester Taylor, now not having too draft a RB, if the vikes wont use that 2nd round pick too move up from 17 too get in position too draft the kid from Vandy. Sounds like you would have too jump in front of AZ at 10 because they are high on him. Cutler could sit behind Johnson for a year or 2 and learn alot. You kind of hate too use a draft pick that high too build for the future when this year you could make a push, but at the same time, its an issue that has too be dealt with sooner or later. Unless the vikes think that they can bring in a good off season QB next year or something.
Down to Earth
Dang James, we are thinking too much alike. I just made the same suggetion in the other C-Pep thread.
cybermuskie
The Saints could be a trade partner, as they just signed Brees, but I doubt it! They will probably take that Ferguson now. Ya never know there might be a QB sitting there at 17. There is alot of time yet!
cybermuskie
Miami's 2nd Rd pick is # 51 overall. Our 2nd rd pick is #48.
Fishin Beast
No more Fumblitis. They do need to start making a few big pickups right now though before everyone is taken.

nofishfisherman
I think the pick is a 2nd rounder in 2007, not this year. thats atleast whats reported now. Seems details are sketchy still.
IFallsRon
DC can be backup to Gus Ferotte, who had a better season last year.

cybermuskie
Miami Dolphins Acquired quarterback Daunte Culpepper from the Minnesota Vikings for a second-round pick in 2006. That's what I found at ESPN. Good thing to cuz if they did really good then the pick would be even worse. After the Moss Deal we are becoming known for trading for dirt cheap prices! nofishfisherman
I bet Culpepper returns to be a pretty good QB, he has had 3 pro bowl seasons, one of those being withoug Moss for half of it. 3 pro bowls isn't a fluke.
Jigging Bob
If Chuck Norris was in charge of the Minnesota Vikings he would have kicked Dante in the ___ and traded Him along time ago .This has been one of the greatest blessings the Vikes could have ever gotten. Dante was getting to be one of those winey rich babies in sports that never get paid enough. Waahhh!! I need another 6 million Dollars to be happy. Buddy if I were on workmans comp. for half a year for busting my knee I sure as hell wouldn't be trying to get a raise and a company truck outa my boss. What a meat head. Lets be happy the Vikes are getting his fumbling/interception/intercoursen' ___ otta' here. Theres much better players coming into and in the league that don't have this attitude. That ____ needs to stop. Kids see that and think that is cool. Its not!! Its a sign of being a piece of ______. You fill in that blanks. I don't ever remember hearing the great ones:(Joe Montana, Dan Marino, Steve Young and as much as I hate saying it Brett Farve). complaining about money & getting along with others. They were true leaders that just were honored to play in the NFL. Something Dante will never be. To bad.

Addiction to pain med. and has had problem with alcohol and letting it interfere with football. Also I hope you don't fill in those blanks around the kids, that wouldn't be a good role model either. blue_healer_guy
Sure is funny how people can forget the 2004 season. Can't wait to see "white lightning" lead us down the feild 2 yards at a time.

Yes it was a great year......However after the boat scandal, and his me first attitude, I dont care how good he is, was, or ever will be, I would rather see him gone somewhere else period. cybermuskie
Here's something for the masses to chew on: With Brees signing with the Saints....ya see where this is headed yet? What happens with Aaron Brooks? Yeah he got benched down there, but he might be someone we could get cheap(3rd RD pick), and give BJ a run for his money. Isn't Childress suppose to be a QB guru? Something to think about! While we are at it Keyshawn got released today. Just giving ya something to chew on!
JIvers
As I said on the other c-pep thread, I am not big on the idea of trading up to get Jay Cutler, whom I think is more media hype than substance. Matt Schaub would be a great fit, but as has been pointed out he won't be available for another year. As for Aaron Brooks, well, the guy couldn't handle the pressure of being starting QB for the Aints. His on-field gaffes like last season's backwards pass/fumble to the ref put any of DC's turnovers in the shade. If Johnson can keep his consistency going and avoid injury all the talk about finding another QB is moot for the next year. I am not worried about Johnson's performance going downhill, but at thirty-eight and with a history of injuries, a decent backup is a necessity. I am confident in Johnson's ability to run the West Coast offense, which requires moving the ball down the field in short bursts.
cybermuskie
I just read a story from Chris Carter on Yahoo about C-pep, but I thought the last little bit was interesting:"I recently talked to Brad Childress, Minnesota's new head coach, and he said the Vikings are thinking about possibly moving up and drafting a quarterback. If they do, they'll have Brad Johnson to start the season and can begin to groom their new quarterback for the future."
JohnMickish
BJ is going to make some team a heck of a good QB coach someday, might as well be here and now. Last night I got to thinking, if Pep was so great and all they wanted was a 2nd round pick, how come there werent 25 teams lined up to take him? You have to believe that the "people in the know" know something. Maybe it's the knee, maybe it's the attitude. Keyshawn and T.O. are both on the market but with the attitude these two yahoo's carry who is going to take them? Wait, Denny Green will take one of them.
