OK who took the duct tape and put the moose antlers on that little doe again. It isn't that big even I mean look how far away from his body he is holding it, and his hand looks huge.. grin.gifgrin.gifJ/K

THAT THING IS UNREAL, I wouldn't know what to do if it walked my my stand, I'd be shaking so bad he would hear my teeth rattling tongue.gif

Taken at 8am on November 3rd in Houston County, MN. A series of turns from "the can" mixed with a few grunts brought this guy in looking for the action. I stopped him with a mouth bleat at 28 yards and the 100 gr Thunderhead found its mark. He ran about 40 yards to a logging road and stopped, looking back, only to have his legs begin to fail him. He bedded down right on the logging road and it was over. A perfect 8 pointer, 19 inches inside, scores 117 net, aged at 3.5 years old.

I got this trail cam pic this summer from the same

farm as the buck above. Unfortunately no one saw

him during the bow or gun season. This is the only

record of him. In late october about a half mile

down the road from this farm I found a dead deer a

long the road with its head cut off and two small

bullet holes in the carcass, one in the neck one in

the chest........I'm afraid it could be him because

someone should have seen him during bow and gun

season and I would have heard about someone shooting this beast, man I hate poachers.

Here's one that's so far outwitted everybody. Hard to get a good count from this shot, because two tines are obscured, but he's a 13. Saw him a bit over an hour ago getting ready to browse the edge of a powerline cut about five miles outside Ely. Muzzleloader's got another week, bow's still open, c'mon guys! grin.gif Not too wide a rack, but full of character. Looks like he's a bit the worse for wear after rut. He let me stand there for five minutes 30 yards upwind of him and didn't give a dump. There was a house about 30 yards away in the other direction, too, and he didn't care about that, either. Nothing like these bucks that are acclimated to humans. It's hard to tell, but a close look shows the buck has a cataract or milky right eye. Tough old bugger, but hanging in there. Gonna be a long winter for this fella, but he's seen a few already.

Brule:

Not within the typical home white-tail range of Fall Lake. Won't be more specific than that. If he survives the winter, I'll be after him next September. At least I know where to look for the sheds this March. Not to mention I'll know what they look like! grin.gif

It took most of 7 days of hunting but I finally got this 10pt on 11/12/2005. He was taken with a Remington 721 270 at about 65yds. We broke our "Cabelas Big Buck scale" while weighing a different buck, so I can only say it was a big deer.

Here is a buck shot in ottertail county over the weekend, not by me but a gentleman from my home town. It's stat's are 20 points, 25" spread, the weight is unknown but the buck was extremely worn down from rutting. It's offical score is 221 and possibly the new minnesota state muzzle loader record.
