basmastermatt
For all of you with the dream of catching a state record largemouth it just got harder. Today the MN state record LM was shattered (caught) by Mark Raveling and has been certified by the DNR. It weighed in at 8 lbs 15 oz. It was a awesome site to see. It will be all over the news in the next few days. The news stations were everywhere when I stopped to hold this beast. For a guy who has fished tournaments for over 20yrs, won more tournaments in MN then anyone ever and now this. Congrats Mark this is the best win of your life. My hat goes off to you and hope everyone can say CONGRATS. Matt Peters I have a few pictures of this freak of nature if Mark will give me permission to put them up, I will by tomorrow. (Rick what do you think?? Ya)
huntnfish
That is one big bass. That had to be great to not only see the monster in person, but to actually hold the thing had to be a rush. Congrats to Mark on his state record.

vern
Congratulations! What a monster. That quiet little lake is going to get busy now. Hopefully we can all see that fish in a tank at Cabela's.
LEECH21
Wow! Thats one heck of a fish. I knew the record would be broken soon...and it did. Congrats!
knoppers
its about time the record was beat. nice fish! its amasing that our state record fish is this small. I am sure many of use have released fish in this catorgory, but not a record, becuase we would have kept it. I was ready for a smalllmouth out of mille lacs to surpass our largemouth record. I have to say, I use 10 pound line, I do not like to force fish into my boat.
bucketmouth64
Congrats on the catch!! Can't wait to see the pix. I bet the lake he caught it in will be heavily fished for awhile. I have come close a few times...just came up short about 3+ lbs. Still trying though.

matthothand
What a pig! I'm glad to see an experienced bass fisherman set the new mark. I'm also glad Mark didn't set the bar too much higher. What a guy!
Duffman
Nice Fish!! I agree, good to see a bass guy get it. I still think that the record will be beat again by some tip-up fisherman someday. I caught a 4.8 lber last night, and to think that that bass is almost twice the size of what I caught, wow, what a hawg.
