Best boots to keep feet warm

military bunny boots, my feet never get cold, the white are suppose to be warmer, but I have both white and black and can't really tell much difference. And don't let someone tell you to blow them up, the valve is for air pressure equalizing when flying.

I find it hard to search things as well when I know there have been topics like this one out there.

I definately would double the ice kings! I was up in Canada earlier this week with LOWS in the single digits for highs and my feet NEVER got cold. They actually were sweating grin.gif

8? or so year old ice kings same liners NEVER been cold. You do kinda walk like Frankenstien with em on but they are toasty. I think I paid about a 100 for mine back then.

I wear my rockies when it's in the 20's or above, they don't take up as much room in my fishtrap grin.gif

Mickey mouse boots!!! Color doesn`t matter. Warmest boot out there. hsolist is the place to get them but watch out when you get a pair and make sure there in good shape, no dry rot or well used boots sold to you as "new".

For all you Ice King lovers you owe it to yourself to check out something new. I ordered a pair of Rocky Ice Stalkers and can't wait to get them. They look a lot like the Ice Kings but on the bottoms of the boot they come with built in Ice Creepers and they are only about 20 bucks more $$. You can simply flip down the metal spikes for walking on bare ice or flip them up for a night on the town! They also have plenty on insulation to keep your feet high off the Ice. I hope to have a report on them soon!

For temps like what's out there now, I'll go along with the ice kings. But I don't really like the extra weight when it's above zero, so I go with the good old Sorels. Always waterproof, and as warm as I need 'em to be.

Corey I have a friend who has them Rocky's and he had to take them back because the flip over ice cleats kept breaking. Supposedly this years are better and the place he got his boats at gave him this years on exchange. He likes them so far.

I got a pair of Ice Kings for $39 at GM last year on end of season close out! I think it was because Columbia bought out LaCrosse?

You can get the military cold weather boots through Sportsman's Guide for $40. Not the Blizzard boots mind you but the real deal, the Mickeys. They are good for sedentary stuff like ice fishing and tree stands.

The difference in the black and white boots (according to the NADIC lab specs) are the temperature ratings. The black ones are supposedly good down to -10 F or so and the whites are for temps down to -60 F.

Also the valve on the side of the boot is for airborne operations to let the vapor barrier expand and contract as the aircraft's elevation changes. Some folks blow or fill the vapor barrier with air and then seal the valve. This may seem like a good idea, but the air or your breathe contains moisture that will freeze which will only hurt the insulation qualities of the boot. We were instructed in cold weather training to just close the valve and leave it the #%%& alone.

A tip is buy them 1 size larger then needed, and/or wider if they have them. The more room you have the warmer they are because they trap warm air around your feet. They fit tight around your ankle so they will not slop around too much. Wear a light non cotton sock liner and a heavy loose weave Norwegian wool sock over that and your good to -60 or so. Carry extra socks and if they get wet change them plus wipe out any moisture in the boot before putting the feet with the dry socks back in.

They are heavy but nothing is warmer in deep cold then a Mickey/Bunny Boot extreme weather system boot!
