Yup, got my new personal best today.. No, I didnt top my 7.2oz out of leech, My biggest today was 4.87lbs.. No I didnt catch my biggest limit, but I did manage a 22.41lb 5 fish limit, which I was more than happy with. No I didnt catch the most bass in a day, but probably close for just having me in the boat... I got the most off of ONE SPOT.. Never moved the boat in 7.5 hours.. 106 fish, with only 26 of them under 3 lbs.. I did manage 3 more fish off of another spot to put my daily total at 109, what an awesome day. The first 8 fish came on drop shot. But fish 7 and 8 hit the drop shot on the way down.. so i switched to a jig worm. All the rest of the fish came on the jig worm. Using a 4" senko copy.

THANK GOD for the Hitch Series Jig Worm Hitch.. I only used 11 baits .. well 12, but #12 is still rigged. God I love those things.. Worth their weight in GOLD!

Didnt mean to brag.. Ok maybe.. But this may have to go down as my best morning on the water ever.. well over a 3lb average for 109 fish. Heaven.

Phenomenal Deitz - that's a great day fishing. Was up at Mille lacs last week fishing smallies and had a 5 fish limit of just under 28 lbs. Now if that would have been in a tourney it would have been even nicer, certainly more financially rewarding.

DD-that sounds like an amazing day. Next time you plan on hitting that lake, give me a call. I can't fish, but that sounds like it would be cool just to witness! grinI could take a couple pictures to make myself worthwile.

tr21-Mille Lacs is awesome for the brown bass for sure. I was able to hit it up before I found out I was out of commission for the year. We hit it a tad postspawn and didn't have quite the size you did, but plenty of 4's with a couple nearly 5 in the mix. The bad thing about a tourney on Mille Lacs though is you can only weigh one if over 22". The rest have to go back immediately as you probably already know. Gotta find the green ones to do good in a tourney. Not nearly as fun though!

Amazing day to say the least. Not often when you run into that hot of a school of fish in those year classes. Well done. You hitting the spot up again tomorrow or are you gonna let em rest for a while?

Congrats! You deserve it!!!

Give us an idea of location, in or out of metro?

I don't think I can top that but my best three one spot bite came on Green when there was a LOT of water (fished it for three hours straight one time getting hits or hooking up nearly every cast, spot was as big as my boat) and one time on a small semi private lake that Dietz has been on where pond weed matted up over a little underwater bay 100 degree heat

(every cast for an hour produced, 50% for the next hour and very good for the hour after that (nephew caught a 6-6, 6-4, 5-10 and many 4#ers that day...did better than me)) and last year ona metro lake I was on one tiny spot for an hour and a half smoking them where I didn't go two casts, no joking, without a bite or a fish throwing cranks...amazing...had to leave because there were other bass boats in the area...

LOL- Not sure I deserve it. NOt sure anyone does.. It was WAAAAAAAAY too much fun.

As for the questions... I'll let it rest a few days. No need to pound on them again today. Thumb will take a day or two to recover.

Location was within 30 mins of my house.. on a pretty popular public lake. So, NE Metro. Rocks... Semi Deepish.

And the only picts I have is of my hand and a bass, So.. picts would be pretty lame. But here is one anyway.

Wow Deitz, That is impressive. I was thinking that your thumb has got to be just thrashed. I've had 40-50 bass days but never really that size constency or in one spot, and on those days my left thumb looks like I was rubbing it on a cheese grader. Great problem to have. Congrats to you Man. Deep rocks, jig wormin.... hmmm, Might be that time of year. Im guessing spinning tackle and light flouro line(8lb). Good info Deitz. Thanks.

Oh, and it's ok to brag a bit after a day like that. Not many people EVER have days like that. It's fun to hear/read and gives many people hope that someday that might happen to them.

Those midsummer schoolie bites are something to behold. Congrats - an unforgettable day. Goes to show you though just how many fish will bunch up on a spot at certain times of year. Also goes to show how many fish you miss sometimes if you only power fish.

Very cool...

Cheers,

Rob Kimm

Awesome day. Was there any evidence that you caught some of those fish more than once? I have often wondered about that when your on a super hot bite. Your thumb has to be raw. A fish about every four minutes for over 7 hours is WOW.

Yup- I know I caught 1 of the fish twice. The first time I caught it was on a drop shot, when I went to lip it it shook really bad and my thumb pushed through its lower lip. It also had a weird black scar/spot on its tail, weighed 4.20lbs.. caught it again, on a jig worm probably 2.5 hours later, had to have been the same fish, unless there is another 4.20 lb fish with a hole in its lower lip/jaw and a black spot on the tail.

JP, lol.. not sure how much color played into this. There were a ton of fish there.. Though I do use this color a lot. Its a watermellon/purple swirl from christophersons..
