Heading to Leech with a group of guys..looking forward to it..won't be long.

NoWiser - Would you mind talking Leech at all? I am interested to hear your thoughts on snap jigging. Send me an email if you are willing to just talk fishing. [email protected]

If anyone knows snap jigging, it would be Gofishleech. Tom knows what he is doing when it comes to snap jigging. On a side note, I'll be on Leech as well.

I'm going to have myself one heck of an early may....

My Cabin is up in WI so I'll be heading up to Birchwood/Edgewater to fish Big Chetac for the opener on the 7th for 4 or 5 days.

For the MN opener I think my buddy is going to take us out on Green, possibly Big Marine in the AM, and we'll be heading to a few river destinations in the afternoon.

I had an offer to go to a cabin on the big pond, but from what I hear that's a zoo on opener... although maybe a trek up there in the PM would not be a bad call. Hmm....

All of this is taking priority over me moving into my new house, which will be closing pretty much the day before I head up to the cabin in wi!

Down Deep, when do you plan on hitting Island for the first time?

Usually the week after the walleye opener as I head to the big bodies of water like Red, Kabby, Rainy, Vermillion the first couple of weekends. Islands a great after work spot for me especially when the water starts getting in the high fiftys/low sixtys and the walleyes move up on the shorelines. Slowly drag or pitch a jig and minnow anywhere between 15 and 5 FOW and if the fish are in there it can be good.

Gonna keep up with tradition that was started 5 years ago when some friends and I were in college, and hit our favorite lake for opener. Will be out there at 4 am....I am actually pretty excited for this opener (always excited regardless) but this cooler spring weather has been perfect! Last year spring came to early!
