Tavaris Junkson and today's bright spots

Well, if Rice hadnt made an amazing catch today Junkson would have thrown four pics against a horrible team. They had almost no pressure on him all day and he still made some pretty poor decisions. He does have physical talent, but he is not near smart enough to be an NFL QB. I hope the 5 year project is over real soon.

Bright spots

1. Sidney Rice. Only if he would have had the brain power to fix his hip in the off season.

2. AP. The guy is a beast. Even with the horrible blocking this year he is still one of the top backs, and he is holding onto the ball.

3. D-line backups. Robison, Guion, Kennedy. These guys are every bit as good as Edwards and the Williams sisters.

4. Lack of penalties. Ever since Frazier took over.

5. Play calling. With the other [PoorWordUsage] gone our play calling has really improved.

How good did Rice look today? Amazing ability to catch the ball in traffic. Makes me a little ticked that he was too freaking stupid to have surgery in February.

On the bright side, his absence helped get rid of the abomination that is Childress, so on balance it's not all bad.

I thought TJack played well today. Good touch on some of his passes...he's always thrown a decent long ball...very mobil in the pocket and he put alot of points on the board leading the Vikes offense today. What's not to like about that.

I thought he showed a level of confidence we haven't seen before...and I hope he gets the opportunity to play this season out so we all KNOW what he can and can't do.

Ultimately, this team needs ALOT of help at ALOT of different positions. If he can prove that he's taken the next step that would benefit this team tremendously.

After the most exciting game all year and we still have to beat the poor man up. Let him play ball! tired

ABSOLUTELY!! Everybody needs to lighten up on the guy a little. Seeing there may not be a season next year, they'll have an entire year to put their team together.

Ask yourself what the outcome of the game might have been if Favre had not been injured. If we would have won it would not have been by that many points. Favre has no wheels left, an obvious disadvantage. Every dog has his day and Favre's day is long past.

If you take away T-Jacks touchdowns he would have numbers like Brett Favre has put up all year.

why would you wanna take them away

he threw them they are points are the board

IF..IF

gotta give the guy a chance hes been sitting for how how long

probably alittle nervous trying to prove himself

somebody said they dont think hes smart enough

i think i heard that same thing about bradshaw yrs ago

little experiece might wise him up alittle

frazier said if farve is good to go he will start

i was dissppointed to hear that

I agree Jackson should play the rest of the season. Yea he had the picks (one was a tipped ball and another thrown up for grabs with the game long over) but sure was nice to see a QB making plays with his legs!! I still would prefer a new QB next season (Kolb) but let Jackson play a few. You just knew Favre was going to get knocked down and injured again he can barely move!

Brett you are only 40 and have 10's of millions in the bank. We are not going to the playoffs this year. Your body is taking more of a beating every week. You have had a great career and we appreciate the memories and your desire to play. But cash in your chips you are killing yourself!!

I don't know about it being his best game. His best game was against Arizone on the road a couple years ago.

TJack is what he is...he needs playing time. Question is: will he get it here next year or elsewhere?

He's still better than Fitzpatrick or Orlovsky. So it coulda been worse.

I'd rather have Fitzpatrick anyday. Fitzpatrick is normally pretty lights out on a really junk team. Junkson is Junk on a pretty good team (when we play).

Junkson looked like normal, flashes of knowing what he's doing then the very next play looking like he's lost. He made some decent throws but he also made alot of bad throws. I think against a good defense there would of been more bad then good.

One thing though is I'm sure he's rusty and hasn't got into any kind of rhythm, I'm sure Favre takes all the #1 team reps when he's around. At this point in the season it don't matter which QB we start, I'm hoping niether will be the starter next year.

I agree that Brett's game is over. I just don't see T jack as our future. He had an OK day against a 2-10 team and still threw 3 bad ones but the receiver saved him.

We will see him next week against the Giants as Favre will not last long. Now TJ will have to play against a much better team and we will then see what he has. He can scramble but he makes way too many bad throws.

I just cringe when he throws it up so high on his long passes as it just hangs there for anyone to catch.

Time will tell as I believe we will see more of him and hopefully he will get a chance to show what he has as the Vikes are done in regards to the play offs.

Decent game from TJack. He doesn't have a walker and he isn't a card carrying member of AARP. It was an exciting game to watch.

If there's no chance of us making the play-offs, and there isn't, he should start the rest of the year. Even if you don't like the guy, we have this much time invested in him. We should see what he can do with starter practice reps and games.

Brett has had many receivers pulling in bad throws for a good part of his career as well. Both of these guys (Farve and Jackson) are risk takers. No risk and there would be nothing for the highlight reel in this Vikings season other than Peterson.

I'm not a big Jackson fan right now but I agree with everyone else who says let him play. Let the guy go and earn a few wins to finish the season and get this team a better chance to trade him off to someone in worse shape than us (Buffalo or Detroit).

Wasn't one of T-Jacks interceptions a ball that hit Camarillo in the hands and got batted up in the air?

His interception for the touchdown was a terrible throw. But after that he was pretty accurate, and I think that most importantly, when the game was close, he played well and the Vikes offense put the hammer down, moved the ball, and put up points. He helped blow-out a bad team after he came off the bench -- without Harvin -- what more do want?

He deserves to play the rest of the year. You cant play Favre because he wants to keep his streak alive. Do what is best for the team, see what T jack is made of. Do we resign him next year as a back up, drop him all together, or does he finally make the cut as our starter. There is only one way to find out, and that is to let him play, tell Favre to go back home and nurse his marriage back to health.

I agree they can play TJ but I think there are many more to thank than TJ.

Defense, what a game they played

Recievers-Rice caught 2 that saved TJ

Peterson- great day of running

Bills as they really stunk it up and they are a 2-10 team. About as bad as Detroit.

It is a win but what did we beat?

I am not at all saying to play Favre but I am saying TJ didn't really win the game as the others had alot more to do with the win than TJ.

Tough day for the T-Jack bashers.:)

All things considered T-Jack was OUTSTANDING especially considering he hasn't played in sometime.

I don't buy into the notion that T-Jack has learned much at all watching Favre and believe he has been hurt immeasurably by not playing the the last 2 years.

Plain and simple T-Jack gives us a better chance to win then Favre does right now! PERIOD!
