PierBridge
Well..... Ell just froze over and Cuddy finally hit a HR at Target Field! He looked as surprised as anyone in the Park. Anyway hopefully we can clinch and give some of the players a bit of rest particularly Cuddy who needs a blow "rest". I assume Morrales is the back up 1st basemen?????? On a more important note how long is Mauer going to be out for with the knee injury????

Pretty sad on both accounts if you ask me!
B. Amish
it wasn't cuddy's first HR at target field. he's had a number of them at home.

PierBridge
It was his first in a few months. On a side note and what is truly sad is Delmon remains lost at the plate and in the field of course. .295 and sinking but then again he's a career .292 hitter and has only been in the league for 7 years now so maybe one day he'll put together more than one good month in a full season. "SMIRK" We can hope I guess! Go Twins~Go Delmon!

Scott K
So was anyone watching the Twins on Sunday when the ump called Thomes pop up a dropped ball, then Young doesnt tag up, and runs to second. Then they review it, and switch the call and call it an out, then call Young out at second for not tagging up? Kinda sad play if you ask me! Young ran to second because the ump called it a dropped ball, then after a meeting of the umps, they change the call, and now its a double play? Big Dave2
mauer hits for avg= 2nd in the AL74 RBI in 500 at batsId say he doesnt need to hit many HRs the way he is Ichiro Suzuki hits for a high average also and and only makes 17mil. If Mauer is not going to provide a bit more power and thus RBI production in the next 8 years, I would say that he will be at least 7 mil overpaid. student
I've read it all season long from you about Mauer being overpaid. Seriously, just put it in your signature and move on.

Big Dave2
how many doubles and rbi does ichiro have?If Ichiro batted third, his avg would be like .140 cause hit into fielders choices all the time Ichiro only has about 10 or so less doubles than mauer and this year has been by far mauers best double production of his career. Last year Ichiro had more doubles than Mauer so for a career, it is about a wash.Ichiro bats lead-off so the opportunity for RBI are diminished. If he batted 3rd, he would have just as many RBI as Mauer. Ichiro scores well over 100 runs per year (usually about 110)Mauer averages closer to 80 per year. That more than makes up for the RBI difference.Ichiro routinely hits WELL over 200 hits per season, Mauer has never achieved 200 hits. Ichiro has a better career batting average as well and usually has over 700 plate appearances compared to Mauers less than 600 plate appearance average
zepman
I wouldn't pay a dime to watch Ichiro play a baseball game...I can watch womens softball right down the street!!
Big Tom
Can you please move Delmon up in the lineup some more???? How nice would it have been to have Delmon drive in Mauer with NOBODY out in the 9th and have the tying run on with NOBODY out instead of watching Cuddy hit with his hands around his throat again and Kubel flailing at a pitch down and in AGAIN.... If he can hit 3rd, when Mauer is out, why can't he hit 4th with Morneau out???? Did you see who Gardy has slated to hit cleanup in Game One against the Yankees??? PierBridge
It makes sense with how things are going and it appears Delmons coming out of his slump. I don't see a 1 "hit"-for the play-offs out of Delmon this year like last and fully expect him to drive in some big runs like earlier in the year.Go Delmon! Coach1310
I'm very surprised to see it!!! Very, very surprised!!! I think he will do just fine... who is hitting behind him??? Hopefully it's Thome..... than I love the move. If it's Kubel..... I just don't get it. Thanks Gardy... I mean Pier, for giving Delmon a shot ...... hopefully it pans out!
