Signs you have spent a lot of hours on the water

I actually get a callous on the ring finger of my right hand, near the knuckle, from holding the spinning rod and reel smile Must mean I'm getting plenty of time on the water grin I have had the rocking boat sensation after spending a day on Lake Michigan in the swells.

^LMAO! That is hilarious.

I have had the rocking sensation before. Its kind of odd. I was sort of freaked out for a minute but a couple stiff Jack and cokes took care of it. Considering the problem is too much time in a boat I couldn't complain though smile .

Bass thumb? I've never heard of such a condition before, unless you mean dyeing your thumb green with braided line. Otherwise it sounds like some wimpy skin.

The easiest way to tell for me is how disorganized my tackle gets. I'll spend time sorting things before a trip only to have a rats nest of hooks n lures by the time I'm done.

My whole upper body a nice shade of red by the time I got home from an 8 hour day of fishing in 90+ degree weather with no clouds in the sky. Forgot the sunscreen but thought getting a tan would be nice. I paid for that little adventure for a very long painful aloe vera filled week! Got good and burned and the red turned back to white so NOT WORTH IT!

If you do not know what bass thumb is.. Then you have not had a great day of bass fishing. I dont think I have wimpy skin, but i have needed a number of baindaids to stop bleedding and scars... but then again, my top 3 days of fishing are 228, 195, 142 for number of bass in a day.

I caught enough fish this weekend that I stopped counting and didn't even bother lifting the smaller fish over the side of the boat most of the time I had caught so many. Still my thumbs are fine, and a fair percentage of my fish were toothy and misbehaving (in fact I had to buy a new bag for my muskie net today cuz I had one cut a hole in my old net bag).

I think I know what you mean though back when I took bullheads off by lipping them. But bullheads have much rougher mouths and tend to bite, bass do not.
