katoguy
Which brand, model, and lens color do y'all use? I am in the market and don't want to spend more than about $150.I've had the Tsunami H3O for the last 8-10 years. They come with 3 interchangeable lens colors and ran about $100. I am on my third pair (lost 2 pairs and now just may want to upgrade). I've compared them to my buddy's Costa Del Mars and wasn't able to see any noticeable difference for sight fishing. Thanks and sorry if this has been beat to death previously.
Deitz Dittrich
I have Costa Del Mar.. The Man'O War frames, and really like them... I however have 3-4 of them in different colored lenses depending on the water and brightness of the day.
katoguy
Thanks for the quick input. Are they price protected or will a little shopping save some cash?Anyone else?
HellaBass
I wear JKruz glasses, they are $80-100, great glasses, comparable to the Costas I used to wear. You can find a link to their HSOforum on my blog or HSOforum
Ducks and Fish
I fish mostly with Costa Del Mar, the Fathoms. I have them in two colors. I also fish with a pair Smith polarized, I think Maverick, that are in a bronze color. They are both very good glasses and all three are glass lenses. You pay more for glass and they are heavier, but I think they are better optically and they are a lot more durable. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Costas. Ralph Wiggum
Costa del Mar Wavekillers with amber lenses/green mirror finish (glass lenses). The only thing I don't love about them is they're a tad heavy. Other than that, they're awesome.
CarlWBL
Good topic. I'm also in the market. Where is a good place to go where they have samples to try on? I find that the shape of my head and face greatly determines how comfortable the glasses feel. I fished with amber lenses this year...a cheap cabelas pair that served me well, but I'm sure the quality isn't nearly as good. What lenses are the best for each situation, as far as clear/cloudy or water clarity? What color would be the best all-around to have?Carl
Cecil
I would wait and look at one of the Sportshows. All brands will be on display there and should be good deals. I have a light grey, dark grey and an amber pair. If I had to just have one, it would be the amber pair.
st.crioxfishin
I use the oakley gas can sunglasses. I've been very pleased with them, but may look into some coasta's this upcoming spring.
jwhjr
I have the Costa Fathoms with amber lenses/green mirror finish (glass lenses). I noticed a huge difference between them and the cheapies.
croixflats
I had a pair of Maui Jims great pair of glasses for $150. Now I just have Fleet Farm specials for $10 no more worrying about scratches and sitting on them.
TurnUpTheFishing
Ive got Costa Frigates, similiar to the man o war but for smaller heads.Last year I went to the sportshow and tried on lots of different pairs. Their is usually a sunglass vendor there with many different brands and styles. The deals were not the greatest so I came home and went online and found the pair I wanted for $35 less than retail and no tax.
Central Bassman
Natives and Oakleys are what i use, I don't think i would use anything else but them. They have worked great for me!!
Sam Sterner
Smith Interlock Whisper. The lenses can switch out so you can put in other colors depending on light conditions, can come in handy at times.
TonkaBass
Costa Del Mar Hammerheads.

SledNeck
Ive caught much bigger bass wearing Oakley Half Jackets than all other sunglasses Ive ever owned, combined!
SpitnArgueDuckClub*
Give the Kaenon sunglass line a look, they were designed by Olympic Athletes for Sailing and such. The Kaenon's have a very unique polarized lens that is like no other with many clors in which to choose. Costa del Mar would be my second choice, you will find the Costa's in glass and the Kaenon's in a SR 91 material which is similiar to Trivex. bassNspear
I have used Natives and Oakleys as well. Like the fit of the Natives, but when its really sunny out, i hit up the oaks!
Esox_Magnum
I like my H30's, only thing I would like to try is the Backwater Green lenses but cost more than I'm willing to spend since I would need RX lenses.
pikedreams
I have two pairs of costa fathoms, a gray lense blue mirror for sunny and an amber lense green mirror for cloudy. What impressed me the most about the company is that last year I was having problems with the inside lense coatings getting all wavey. So I boxed 'em up and sent them in with a note of explanation. About a week later I got a call from a customer service rep. and she said they were going to replace one pair entirely and replace the lenses on the other. Sweet! And this was after I had owned them for 10 years already! When they came back they were both in brand new hard cases too.I guess some things are worth paying a little more up front for especially if they stand behind it like that. DougSunrisePoint
I have been using Solar Bats for about the past eight years and really like them. They have interchangeable lenses and are very comfortable. Solar Bat has excellent customer service.Doug
