There is a dude in ND I know that always states I wont shoot a buck unless he has a rack as large as a Christmas tree, and he means it. he does not shoot many deer.

Walnut is the one that sticks out the most. We had gotten pics of him many times over the years and would see him seems like every year on the eve of opener, then he would disappear. No reports of him getting shot, so he must've died of old age. If anyone in our party would've gotten him, he was definitely gone on the wall. His brow tines, and his shortest tines, were over 8 inches and all the rest were over 9 inches.

Droopy George. We found his sheds one year. The next hunting season we got him. He is on the wall now. Scored very well at the deer classic.

Old Grand Dad. Big surprise where us geniuses came up with that one. There is one that we call the Fawnz, not because he is young, but technically he is a huge spike, he actually looks like a pronghorn Antelope. I had a shot at him one year, but hit a branch with my arrow. He has main beams and that is it. They are so thick you can't get your hands around them, but he has no tines at all. They are solid white. Its pretty cool. One other guy has seen him and that was last year, but he didn't take it.

We had "Ol' Ivory" at our camp for years. Big as a steer. He didn't have the biggest rack in the world by any means, but they were polished. He was just massive in size. We always saw him during bow season and out of range. During rifle season he always just disappeared. Legendary.

"Luther" Was a huge buck, was seen by a few other hunters in the area and also by people driving at night where he crossed from parcel to parcel. Never heard of anybody every getting him though.

Years ago, down by Elba Mn., there were a couple well known bucks. One was named Elvis and the other Garth.

we caught "devil buck" on camera one night the sun gave his eyes a redish evil lookign stare hes at least 14pointer no S***in ya! "dumb and dumber" were 2 little basket bucks that were postive were twins...they never really spit up even during the rut and they loved to waltz around hay fields in broad daylight. Both of them got shot... they were the only bucks we ever named or consistenly saw.

the wobbler...his rack is so big and heavy that when he trots he can barely hold his head up! also his body is so big that his butt wobbles side to side.

the breeder....no buck was getting a piece of action without him stepping in and taking over..a beast and he loved to fight.

the prayer buck...nice typical 10 pointer but all the tips of his tines touched...from behind his racked looked like two hands together like doing a prayer.

Legendary big old buck my Dad and bud's saw for the first time about 20 years ago. Everytime they saw him his gunts were so deep he sounded like a pig snorting... hence the name. He was long gone when I started hunting... to our knowledge no one ever got him. My dad still talks about his brow tines... 12" for sure he says.

We use the term Bullwinkle or Mr. Big for any decent bucks we see.

We had a little forky that we first saw by a place we call "the pothole", so when we kept seeing him & seeing him we started calling him the pothole buck. We eventually named him Roy. I almost shot him with my bow a week before gun season. He was coming out of the woods with about 10 minutes of light left & his left side to me, he was a small buck, so he just looked like a nice average doe. Sometime throughout the last week since I'd seen him he'd broken his left side off. I was drawn & ready to shoot at 12 yards when his head got clear of the backdrop of branches enough that I could see the other side of his fork. During second weekend of gun season we needed deer & made a drive. A friend who rarely hunts with us shot him. We kept giving him grief about shooting Roy.

We've seen a nontypical this year we call the Beast & a big very symetrical 10 we call Beauty. No shot opps on them though.

The Elk. Dad watched him broadside at 200 yards for 20 minutes a couple years back. We hunt in the shotgun zone, so he had no shot. He had a 120 class 8 pointer come out underneath him, but he passed on it, thinking if there is any chance that the Elk is gonna come a little closer....We saw him 4 times over the next 3 years do stupid, stupid things yet he always got away with it. We hope he was a lover.....

Funny how many bucks named "Peace Sign" that guys actually kill would have been named Big Hoss, Dolly Parton, or Bruiser had they missed it.
