Wow!! That is awsome. It will give me something to dream about until gun season. Just to get a picture of something like that in front of your camera, has got to add some very high excitement to deer huntin. Good luck let us know how it ends up!

Funny thing is...

A couple years ago the guys were out checking stands and changing film. The guy who owns the camera wasnt watching and a couple of the others made a rub on a huge birch tree near his stand...lol. They didnt say anything about it. Sure enough a week or so later the guy is telling everyone about the HUGE rub by one of his stands. We let it go on for a couple months before we told him we were messing with him. Now he REALLY has something to be excited about. Though. No joke this time.

Yeah... I think so too. I have about 3 buddies going after him with bows this weekend.

Had to reread what the thread was focused on - for a second I thought you had three guys going after the trespassing gentleman grin.gif

Has anyone zoomed in on the guy?? What does he have tied to his body, looks like red packs around his right arm and either his check or stomach...

Am I seeing things

I've zoomed in on it. He is wearing a blue and red shirt and white shirt tied around his waist.

Sorry about getting so far off track with this thread.

I went to check my camera last night, on private land behind my house, and it was gone! I just put it out on Sun night w/ fresh battery. I am not sure what happened, and will go take a closer look tonight. No one should be on my property and much less taking my camera down. I have had a bear in the area that has attacked feeders and stuff so that may be what happened, but my first thought is a tresspassing thief! It just chaps my hide that this happened in my back yard. Anyway, no pics to post mad.gif

Tippman

Don't want to get to far off our post. But I had about $2,500 dollars worth of stuff stolen from my shed in June. Now get this I found a MN ID not a Drivers license on my garage floor of someone I have never seen before. I called the police gave them the ID. I ran the name and birth date on a criminal HSOforum and it came back with a small rap sheet of offenses the person had. As well as jail time served. I called the Police Department four times after my stuff was stolen. They finally called me back eight days after it happend, saying the guy had an existing warrent for his arrest and they tried looking for him several hours that night of the theft. I was not happy. Give them the Tip of the century and they wait eight days make two calls to find the guy and haven't called me since. Sometimes I wish I would of just kept the ID for myself. So ending my rant I'm really not suprised, they didn't check it out.

Everyone have a great safe deer season, wow do some of you guys got pictures of hogs.

In addition to that...I dont hunt there. He only puts corn out in the "off-season". Again...not illegal.

It is not illegal nor ethically wrong to put corn out for photo purposes. However, honestly how many would see that deer and be tempted to hunt near the corn pile. Even on a trail that leads to the corn (it must be removed 10 days in advance of the hunting season).

I do want to point out that I do put out corn to get pictures of deer and moose on my property up north.

Nova, great looking deer........Wayne put in sweet corn this summer and the company who he contracted with came and harvested it and replanted the fields with wheat, so I will be hunting the Strawberry/sweet corn farm which has winter wheat planted.....still won't see anything like you are seeing.......

There have to be big bucks down there. I have seen the rubs in the spring. With those crops just harvested and winter wheat coming up you will have a great chance. good luck. Don't forget to pick off a yote or 20 grin.gif

It makes no difference how you justify this. I agree, it is not illegal to put out corn for taking pictures but I would bet that most folks on this site are then going to be hunting right over that same site, claiming that the bait is gone or that they are doing so legally. I think this is truly unethical and I would be ashamed to take any deer that I have been feeding and keeping around. If we keep encouraging people to do this,it is only going to get worse. We (deer hunters) must be willing to police each other and not pepetuate these activities. It really gives deer hunters a bad name which only leads to bad outcomes whether in the press or elsewhere. Just read the weekly outdoor news and notice how many people are getting busted for hunting over bait.

Thanks so much for your OPINION Mr. Glass Half Empty.

These guys should just forget about hunting for this deer because three weeks ago they put corn out near a trail camera. Now that they have pictures there is no chance that buck can be taken ethically.

I'm sure you will with this year's medal for the most ethical hunter award.
