The Grebe
Cmon Corey, you know that Billy Bob needs the money....otherwise why would he lend any credence to a movie like Mr. Woodcock? Why do the big named actors and actresses do that every now and then? B grade movies if that?
The Grebe
Watched "The Kingdom" last night and although it started kind of slow, it became very riveting, lots of action....gives one a small insight into some of the complexities of that area. Audio a little hard to follow, lots of wispering and low key talking, kinda garbled in spots, even with the sound turned up? I don't know, maybe I've been around to many chainsaws? It won't win any awards, but it wasn't to bad of a movie for kicking back and winding down on a Sat. night.
mnwild
I thought The Kingdom was a very good movie but your right about the beginning being slow. Over the weekend I watched We own the Night very good from start to finish lots of action also got in American Gangster based on a true story. Another good one from start to finish and the ending I thought was unreal how it all played out.

Farley
Watched "Michael Clayton" last night. My roommate liked it alot, I thought it was average.
metrojoe
The last 2 movies I saw were Gone Baby Gone and Martian Child. Gone Baby Gone was a very interesting movie. It's not a real feel good movie, but it will definitely make you feel. Some of the the people you meet and the places they take you in this movie made me a bit uncomfortable, but only because it's probably not to far from the truth. I would highly recommend it. Martian Child was just an over all feel good family movie. These movies aren't usually at the top of my list as ones to see, but it was enjoyable to watch.Anyone seen the Brave One yet? paceman
Watched the "Heartbreak Kid" (Ben Stiller) this past weekend. Some parts were pretty funny, some parts were pretty gross...
Daze Off
Saw three movies over the course of the last few days:Michael Clayton - worst of the three by far - dead dull boring...In the Valley of Elah - Tommy Lee Jones - very good movie, speaks to the wounds of war that are not visible. The Brave One - Jodie Foster - not bad, had some real tension and a nice plot twist at the end. Farley
"Into The Wild". Honestly, I cant believe this movie didnt sweep the Acadamy Awards. I know one of the characters was nominated for Best Supporting Actor but cant remember if he won or not. Every aspect of this movie is good: Cinematography, soundtrack (Eddie Vedder) acting, supporting acting, directing. One of the best I've seen for a while and will definetly go into the collection. 2.5 hours long but well worth it. It's one of those movies that makes you appreciate movies. Farley
Oh yeah, also watched "American Gangster" and "Millers Crossing".American Gangster was pretty good. Denzel does a pretty good job. Lots of drugs, swearing and violence so put the kiddies to bed before this one.Millers Crossing is a Cohen Bros film and I think it's a remake on an old old gangster movie. Has a lot of the same actors as "Barton Fink" (another Cohen Bros. movie which I thought was good but my buddies had a hard time sitting through, kind of boring, but still good I thought) and if you sit through it and pay attention to what is happening it is actually a really good movie. kingkobbla
I just watched "we Own the Night" with Mark Walberg and Joaquin Phoenix. I thought it was good but I also really like those movies. American Gangster is next!
The Grebe
Just got done watching The Valley Of Elah, starring Tommy Lee Jones. That guy always brings something to a movie he is in...very good movie...but disturbing at the same time...based on a true story. A great who done it, with a disturbing twist. bimbo
i watched the assionation of jesse james tonight. good movie yall should look into it.
Sandmannd
I saw The Valley of Elah and thought the same as you Grebe, love Tommy Lee Jones. Jesse James is good, but you have to be in the right frame of mind for it as it's two and a half hours long. I just saw into the wild and that is a really good movie, true story and flows nice. 30 days of night is another good movie. If you like vampire movies, this is a good one and gives a differetn twist on them.
mnwild
Watched 30 days of night over the weekend all I can say is what a movie. Action pretty much throughout the movie, some parts can make you jump, very gory movie would recommend if you like these types of movies. Also started The Comebacks I got about 25 minutes into it and shut it off, just stupid.
lawdog
We saw "Mr. Brooks" with Kevin Costner this weekend. Wasn't a big splash about this flick, but its very dark and good I thought.
tacklejunkie
one of the dumbest movies i have watched recently was waterworld with kevin costner. the only good part of the movie was the nude rear shot of jeanne tripplehorn
fish-n-fool
Worst movie I have seen recently was Vantage Point .. Has kind of a take off of Groundhog Day (if you've ever seen that movie, the day starts over and over again) Waste of $$$$ -- expecially considering the theatre prices nowadays.. eyepatrol
Not sure where the movie reviews went (the one for theaters), but my wife and I saw Bucketlist Friday night (which will be coming out for rent soon I'm sure). Pretty good movie, but much, much more serious than what the movie trailers led me to believe. It's a movie worth seeing once IMO.
Farley
Watched "No Country for Old Men" last night (speaking of Tommy Lee Jones, Grebe\Sandmannd). Good movie, but I dont see what all the hype was about. Lots of good acting I guess. I thought some of it was kind of unbelieveable, not in the sense of being amazing, more like that would never happen like that in the real world. Put the kids to bed before checking this one out. Also watched "Gone Baby Gone" the other night. Casey Affleck stars in this one where he gets hired to find a missing child because of his "Street Cred". I thought it was a pretty good movie but would have liked it better if someone other than Casey Affleck played that part. It would be like Donny Osmond playing Marcelis Wallace in pulp fiction, it just doesnt work. So out of the last 5 movies I've seen the best one is still by far:1. "Into the Wild"2. "American Gangster"3. "No Country for Old Men"4. "Gone Baby Gone"5. "Darjeling Limited" (Kind of like "Rushmore" or "Royal Tennanbaums" but not nearly as funny.) The Grebe
Seen American Ganster last week-end and it was okay...I like Denzel Washington, one of my favorite actors. I thought it moved along on a kind of an even keel for a gangster movie? No highs and lows, ports and starboards a glitch here and there, but otherwise pretty tame.We also started that one with Mark Walberg, the one where he plays a cop? I can't remember the name of it? I never made it to the finish on that one! His brother has a dynomite looking girlfriend, but other then that, don't watch it if your tired! Maybe I missed the 5 star ending? mnwild
We own the Night is the movie your talking about. I thought that was an excellent movie, great ending.
The Grebe
Well, maybe I did miss the best part then...I just couldn't stay with it for some reason? I know alot of others thought it was good, thats one of the reasons I got it.
walleyemkr
Rented "Into the Wild" last night. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone, especially if you read the book. Finally a movie that does the book justice. In my opinion, a great movie, from the acting, to cinematography, to soundtrack. Will definitely be adding it to my personal collection in the near future. Sandmannd
Watched I am Legend the other day. Thought it was a pretty decent movie for what it was. Wasn't a great movie but it was pretty well put together. And Will Smith is as good as ever.
