Bad, very bad! Still not over but I'm thinking about hitting the Fast Foreward.

That vent aside, there are a few one liners that are pretty funny. They have some background music that is interesting but at times it doesn't match the scene. There's one particlar scene where it sounds like something you'd hear on a cartoon not an action movie.

Don't waste your time with this one unless there's absolutely nothing else to rent at the store.

Good luck,

I seen that awhile back and that was pretty much my take on it also. You got to give the guy credit though for eating his Wheaties....he gets shot, run over, beat up, blown up on numerous occassions, left for dead, traverses a swamp, etc. etc. and all he has is a dirt smudge on his face, minimal bleeding and his tee shirt stays fairly clean? I take more punishment then that trimming our hedges! grin.gif

We rented Norbit (sp?) the one with the big black woman and the nerd. i thought it was funny as hell.

Went and seen knocked up in the theater last night, that was another funny one. except for one scene where they actually showed the baby crowning while giving birth. that was kinda messed up.

Friday night we seen "Smoking Aces" takes awhile to get going, some surprising turn of events, some crappy acting, overall on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it about a 5 at the most.

On Saturday, when we finally had a chance to stop, we picked up "Apocalypto" it's different, no doubt! I don't know if the players are supposed to depict Incas, Mayans, or Aztecs, but it's one of em?

Where these actors come from is anyones guess, but I'm tellin ya, these dudes look like the real deal! And the ethnic dress is something elseI

There is no dialog except in the native tongue, everything is in text, but it's a pretty good movie once you get into it. Some of the stuff is kind of corny, but what the hey?

I'd probably give this one a 5 for the storyline, a 6 for the acting and an 8 or nine for the reality of the wardrobe and make up.

Corey- Did you ever see Norbit?? I was wondering how that movie is.

I watched Reno 911 Miami last night. The movie is only 1hr 15 minutes long. Overall it was ok, it was the stupid funny. You have to like to Reno 911 series on the Comedy Channel or you won't like this one.

Yes, we rented "Norbit". The movie was ok but the extra's were a little more interesting. They show a time lapse of Eddie Murphy getting into character. Man, there are some talented make-up artists! I also wondered how they made some of the scenes where his body was jiggling and trying to fit through the gate at the water park. I was amazed that they used body doubles and added Eddie Murphy's head on the body! What was more scary is that they had to cast people that were that large for the body doubles!!! shocked.gif

I haven't seen any more movies lately but will have to get out and rent again soon.

Any suggestions?

Rented "Apocalypto" last night. Man, what an interesting movie! Lots of action with some good gore scenes. One of the things I liked was the jokes they were playing on their fellow tribe member early on in the movie.

Thanks for the heads up. The wife and I really enjoyed this movie. smile.gif

Good luck,

We were up to my sisters at Mille Lacs yesterday and after the fireworks at Garrison....we played some cards and started watching the movie 'Shooter'. "I don't know Angelo?"

We didn't finish it, eyeballs gave out before movie was over, had to go check the lids for leaks.

I'll rent it again, or wait till it comes out on cable and then watch it all the way through.. The opening scenes were great and I thought "awright!"

But it started to get kind of dorky real quick, kind of a cross between McGyver, Rambo, The Marine, The fugitive and well, you get the picture.

With those quack feet and muscles bound thickness, Mark Walberg can barely walk right on a good day, taking them 1 foot long strides, let alone out run the law with 2 bullet wounds in him! grin.gif

I'll see it through and make another post after I do, as there were a couple of pretty good realistic scenes in what I saw....maybe I was tired and to quick to judge?

With the heat wave over the weekend I rented the movie Pride with Bernie Mac & Terrance Howard. This was a true story and I recommend it to anyone who like true stories. It was about a swim team from Philedelphia that formed and they had to deal with the black/white issue because it took place in 1973.

The wife and I watched "Catch N Release" last night with Jennifer Garner. In my opinion it was ok, and my wife really liked it. It does have some fishing themes and quotes. Her character has an interesting opinion about catch and release fishing. You'll have to rent it to see.

Over the weekend I watched #23 with Jim Carey. All I can say is WOW. The 1st 45 minutes was pretty slow but it picked up and it was good. Its kinda confusing in some parts of the movie but the ending will get you.

Watched the rest of 'Shooter' this past week-end up at the lake.

That going up to the lake stuff is hard work! Well, I don't know about hard work, but if it is so relaxing, how come we are always tired when we get home?

Casino, visiting, cards, fishing, movies, cook outs, working on the trailers and driving back and forth...3 hours of sleep a night doesn't cut it!

Anyways, back to the 'Shooter'....I don't know, it was alright I guess? Lots of shoot-em-up and supposed intrigue, one guy against the hordes....one guy taking out quasi gunships that had fixes on his position and were already laying down fire, with a bolt action rifle, etc. etc., it was an action movie....but no one will win any awards for it!

300 is one of my next movies, as is Hot Fuzz....that looks like it might be funny.

I don't know if I will be able to wait for Bourne Ultimatum to come out video, I might have to go to the theater and see it? Bruce Willis' new Die Hard I can wait for awhile.

There are a few other good ones out there that I may have to catch up on...gotta cool my jets for awhile with the going up to the lake etc.

Watched one of the funniest movies I have seeing in a long time, movie was Wild Hogs. From start to finish you laugh your arse off, there are so many funny scenes. I would recommend this movie to everyone you will not be dissapointed. Tell you the truth I would just spend the extra $10 and buy the movie, its that good..

MNW.... grin.gif I watched Wild Hogs this past week-end after all the 'Up Nort' festivities were done....I laughed my butt off in a couple of those scenes....I must have a sadistic streak in me, cause when they would be showin off and hit something...and the gravy scene? grin.gif

I thought that they could have gotten someone better then Martin for the part and I also think Trevolta was out of character, but some of that schtick, he was right on que!

I can see Liota as a gangster, or a cop, but as a biker, I don't know about that? It was funny though.
