Don Akers Son Dies from Bomb in Iraq

Hi all. This is not fishing related but I felt it was important to share with all of you. I received news from Don Akers the owner of Fish Brothers tip-ups.

Here is the first part received 11/21/05:

ALL: Spence has been critically injured in Iraq. Their Humvee hit an IED and all six in the vehicle are critical with burns. He is burned over 70% of his body, is critical but stable. We may be headed for Germany tonight to meet him when they evac him to Lanstuhl Military Hospital.I'll be in touch when we know how he is doing.

Here is the second part received today 12/15/05:

We're back home for good now. Our son passed away on the 8th. so we came right back. Go ahead and send the orders to me and I will take care of them.

I am asking all of you to say a prayer for Don Akers, Spence Akers and his family.

I don't know what to say that could possible any comfort to you and your family. I have a son and daughter and I'd be devastated if I lost them. I think a son would want his family to know that he loved them and to be remembered for the good times they've had together.
