I don't know if this has been discussed earlier here or not, but alot of people that post on here have some very unique names. I was just wondering how everybody came up with their own. Mine, I guess that was my parents idea. So if you don't mind, maybe tell us how did you come up with yours.

I was born, raised and lived in Duluth until "99" and when I went back to college (at 39) and graduated(42) I never figured to be moving further north for work. So at the time I was upnorth so to speak grin.gif So that is the name that popped up when I joined this site.

A friend and I were sitting in the Underwood Legion about 12 years ago, back when it was a regular bar called the Pub.

An old farmer came in and ordered a beer. A few minutes later, he points to a jar in the cooler and says in a heavy Minnesota/Scandinavian accent, "Hey der, take and giff me one of dem pickled gisserts, der."

I chuckled, and wrote "gissert" down on a cocktail napkin. We proceeded to make up more phonetic spellings and write them down. Gloves=cluffs, brain=prane, etc.

Once I went online, Gissert came roaring back so I decided to use it as a screen name.

Melon was given to me in elementary school, my baseball coach started it because my first day at practice I took a line drive in the head! Man that was a long time ago!! It's also similar to my last name.

I had a growth spirt at age 15 and went from 220 pounds to 270 pounds. A friend started calling me Big Daddy and it stuck.

Since then I've more than doubled my age and I'm only at 335. Thank God that growth rate didn't continue...

My dad called me Wavey Davey or Davey Wavey when I was a little kid. My name is Dave. I've been around lakes and boats all my life. Seemed like a good fishing site name.

I have a couple of boats, if I ever get a big boat, I'm going to name it "Wavey Davey".

Back in collage had a girlfriend who drank Sun Country Wine Coolers so I always had some in the fridge. All my buddies drank beer and thought I was a wuss, so they called me Suncountry. That name was too long so they shortend it to sunny. Had to add the j, first letter of first name, as sunny was taken
