I know some have said that is they way he was raised. That don't cut it. That would say that being a racist bigot is OK because your dad was. That thinking is just isn't OK in today's society.

Everyone I've heard say "that's how he was raised, he didn't know any better" also said "he should have known better and that's no excuse for beating a kid."

hopefully the classes he has to take get it through his head that you can't beat your kids. if he doesn't learn it he'll be in some pretty deep legal trouble, not to mention he won't be playin football anymore. Who knows. This is the same guy that told his PO he "smoked a little weed" so I guess nothing would surprise me anymore.

In the longrun, this is probably the best thing for the vikes financially, as I said in an earlier post. .... Now they can spend that money on other players.

I also think he'll be playing for the vikes next season, and I seriously doubt he takes much of a pay cut.

If not, he'll be playing for the seahawks, and probably rush 2400 yards on his nice fresh legs that just had a year off.

My earlier prediction that he would be playing this year was definitely off, so I've got a bad record but I'm sticking by my prediction that next year his salary is cut to roughly 1/2 of what he's scheduled to make, and that he's on another team besides the Vikings. It's not like I'm making bold predictions here or going on a limb -- I have to say I've not heard ANYONE who thinks he'll be back with the Vikes, let alone with the vikes and NOT taking a huge pay cut (other than your post just now).

It seems like all you hear from folks now is that they were going to cut him after this year anyway (regardless of the abuse thing happening) due to the overinflated salary. At least I heard that on KFAN last night on my way home from work and 93X this morning on my way in (from two different people). Honestly I'm not sure that's true -- I think they would have restructured his contract a bit, but still overpaid him to stick around just because of the fan sentiment. Now, that's all out the window.

AP may not be on the Vikes next year, but I doubt he will land on the Seahawks. Every interaction they've had when dealing with the Vikings or former Vikings players has been a huge bust. Between the "poison pill" clause in Hutchinson's contract, Sidney Rice never staying healthy and getting absolutely taken to the woodshed on the Percy Harvin deal, I think they've had enough purple for a while.

Worst case scenario is he lands on a division rival. Detroit would look pretty formidable with him as their main back.

I wonder if the vikings have an insurance policy that will reimburse them for the $$ they've payed to Peterson this year or if they just eat all that cost. Not that it helps from a cap perspective or anything, but you know that 12 million bucks could go a long ways toward putting bird-safe glass in the new stadium

"Then after the prosecutors look at it they decided that it wasn't child abuse and they recommended a misdemeanor which is causing anyone any pain in Texas. We made a recommendation that we thought fairly disposed of everything with Adrian accepting responsibility for everything and we hoped and thought he would be eligible to get back on the field of play."

Hardin went on to criticize more of Goodell's handling of the situation, saying the NFL was 'embarrassed' by how they handled the Rice situation after how the public reacted and then mentioned what he hopes takes place moving forward. "The problem is when you get caught up in this flood of publicity, the NFL was embarrassed by how they handled the Ray Rice thing initially and now they're beating their chest with a policy that didn't even exist at the time Adrian was disciplining his child. They make up a new policy, they make up new rules, they apply them to somebody's past conduct when the rules were not in effect. And they want to put him out for the whole year.

"I think the union and others will deal with the NFL through the regular appeals process, I hope that it gets out of Mr. Goodell's hands it goes to an independent arbitrator, I trust and hope when that happens people will find out that this was an arbitrary procedure and an unfair punishment.

"He didn't intend he was going to inflict those type of injuries. He truly believes he is the person of discipline and accomplishment that he's had in spite of everything because of the way he was raised... There are millions of parents in this country that feel the same way. That doesn't mean there are no limits. This particular incident crossed over, not with intention. And he made a mistake and has paid tremendously for it. But for the NFL, then to decide what they think is appropriate punishment or so in addition to whatever the criminal justice system says I just think is wrong.

"What they want is a fair process. This is a deal where the NFL is making up the rules as they go along. They got caught because they originally did something they thought was right and then when they got their hand caught in the cookie jar they lied about what they knew and Adrian is now paying the price for the mistakes they made in the past and that's just wrong."

I will say it again. Last week Wright, Patterson, Rudolph, Jennings, Chase Ford had around 4 catches combined for about 30 yards. You want to tell me that they couldnt get open AT ALL??? Wright, Rudolph, and Jennings barely played, hard to get open and rack up catches and yards when your not on the field lol.

I think you expect too much out of this team this year, we have a whole new coaching staff, a rookie QB that wasn't supposed to play this season, a rookie RB when we are supposed to have one of the best RB's in the league, a fake #1 old WR, a 2nd year WR that has barely played the position, #1 TE down for most the year, a bunch of no namers taking their spots and to top it all off a dumpster fire O-line.

Blunder wouldn't of doubled anything except fumbles and Int's.

Totally agree Fishinguru. At this stage of the game I am actually a little more concerned about Patterson, hard to watch his route running with what you see on tv but he seems to have got more tentative in his kickoff returns IMO.

It is a brand new staff, and system, with a bunch of young/rookie players on the team, give them a break. They only won 5 games last year, did you expect a Superbowl this year? Our starting QB is out, and we are playing with a rookie QB as well, not to mention we are down the best RB in the league. I think your expectations of the season are a little high!

Running back Adrian Peterson, who learned Friday afternoon that his NFL suspension was upheld by a third-party arbitrator, told ESPN that he has been so disappointed by the league’s disciplinary process that he has considered retirement during his time away from the Minnesota Vikings.

“I’ve thought about getting back into the real estate (business in Texas) I’m already in,” Peterson said in the interview with ESPN. “That’s something I’ve been interested in, something I’m involved in. I’ve thought about getting back into that.

Considering a few rookies and a new coaching staff, Vikes have done ok this year as I did not expect much more out of them . Few positions to fill and in a couple years we will have a division contending team. I do believe the Wilf's will buy the needed players and turn this team around, just going to take some time. As far as AP, I would guess his days with the Vikings may be done if they can get something for him. He can still play better than the majority of the RB's in the game today and there will b owners who will go after him. Guess we will see soon enough.
