RUT CRAZY pictures!

Recommended Posts

During the RUT is the best time to capture a BIG PIG on your camera! I thought it may be fun to dig through the old photos over the camera years and see some of peoples big RUT bucks or maybe just some neat pictures from this magical time of year!

Ill start with a buck we called Mr. Big! I found hid sheds when he was 3 1/2 and scored 131. He wasn't wide but he had big beams and big potential. The next year we never saw him, no sightings, pictures, or sheds. Then on October 28 the following year I placed a camera on a mock scrape I made. I was super excited when I went and looked though the pictures and saw Mr.Big...ger than I expected! He outsmarted hunters again that season. Unfortunatly on January 1st, the day after MN bow ended, he was fataly hit by a car! My good friend found him later that week, dead near a frozen pond. He was 5 1/2 and scored 172". I know he hadn't finished showing what he was capable of either cry I can see he has spread his genes, I just hope they live long enough to show it it like he did! Hes one of the highest scoring deer ive ever gotten pictures of! Bummer to see him go! Especially like that!

Here he is thanks to THE RUT!! Big and proud! Enjoy...

Wow! That's what dreams are made of right there. Sad ending to an amazing animal - I definitely can't top that. I just looked through mine and I only have one good pic of a mature "rut crazy" buck. I've posted it before but it's worth showing again to keep the thread moving forward!

Probably my favorite place to sit on this property. I've seen a lot of bucks here over the years. That particular afternoon, the stand was vacant. Curious to see who shows up this year.

Not as big as others but this guy showed up last year (date is wrong) for 3 days then was gone. Didn't hear that he got killed so if he is around this year he should be a stud!

Second one was a nice 12 that we got one picture of and the neighbor killed 1st gun season.

Wow, some awesome bucks guys. Here's one from last year...nothing like making a scrape right in front of the camera! He patrolled this scrape all night long with another smaller 10 pt. Hope to see this big boy in daylight this year.

Watched this guy make this scrape right under my stand. I was running late so I decided to just watch the area from a different stand. It was 2 years ago and we have been after this one for 4 years. No pics this year yet but we have been getting fewer pics every year. We expect to get some more in the next 2 weeks.

slimngrizly - Did you (photoshop) blur-out Mr Big's eyes to hid his true identity???

No I have a few older moultries that make ther eyes glow that way. I dont know why it looks like that? I dont like it but otherwise they take decent pictures.

Lots of really neat pictures commin in here!

Not during the Rut but last pic of a deer we called "Gordy" because he would feed in a alfalfa field 1/4 mile away from our property at nights (the owner's name is Gordon so Gordy for short) We had pictures of him for 3 years and only saw him twice during hunting season, no chance of shooting however. That year or the following year we heard of a big wided 10 shot just to the N of us. Have not seen pictures to confirm yet. It was a Legend buck on our property. Looking forward to this deer season and good luck everyone! Great pics by the way especially the first post, that is a Hog!
