I'd guess it is Beth in the trees, with Carol not coming back with them. Her intent was to leave without getting noticed, but sly ol' Daryl tracked her to the car. That, and we need some Beth backstory so that will eat up an episode. Then again, he was only gone a night so maybe he just found where she was and another different escapee and is going back for her with backup. Carol maybe stayed behind or was also captured.

I'd also that guess Morgan will show up later on, after Beth is back and some more story has played out. He was shown seeing the changed Terminus Sanctuary sign and following marks on the trees by the tracks, which were said to have been left by Gareth and the Terminus survivors. I think that some time has passed from when Rick changed the sign and the trees were marked, and that Morgan is behind the Grimes gang by a few weeks.

Carol would not be hiding. They were all hugging after E1.

Beth, maybe if she was psychologically messed up.

Morgan, nah, Daryl doesn't know him. It would mean that Morgan kidnapped Daryl to infiltrate Rick & Co.

I don't see any of those scenarios so, new person. Guessing another young adult that they liberated from where ever Beth is. And that person will have intel on the others and Beth.

Kyhl, like where you are going with that thought... Makes sense but I am not sure I see Daryl as the come and join our club kind of guy... I see him more of a if you with me I am with you but not looking to add more mouths to feed. ie when he and Merle (mostly Daryl) saved that family on the bridge over the river... he just said your safe now and see ya later.

I agree with the sentiment that this has been a strong season so far, but is it just me, or have they dealt with the Beth aspect rather poorly? Maggie doesn't even mention Beth before heading to DC with Glen. She is/was so close with her dad and Glen and her sister that she can barely stay upright when any of them are in danger or missing, but all of the sudden Beth is like a tertiary thought in the back of her head???

The only time they even alluded to Beth at all in recent memory was at the end of last season after Daryl and Rick get in the throw-down with the Claimers (and Rick bites a dude's windpipe off ) and Rick asks about her. Daryl says "she's just gone" and they leave it at that! From next week's preview they appear to bring her story back to light, but what a plot hole...

When Maggie first sees Daryl again, wouldn't that be the first question out of her mouth? Wouldn't Daryl want to talk to her very specifically about the situation, and shouldn't the fans be able to see that, too? Merle was an a-hole, but Daryl loved him...he gets how important sibling news would be. Just rings weak in my book to ignore that aspect of the story and not have Maggie even breathe a word about her sister. Did I doze off for five minutes when all of this was discussed?

That is a good point about Maggie's lack of concern. Maybe they chatted about it at Terminus? Mags was quick to get on the short bus with Glenn, basically closing herself off to any chance of seeing Beth again.

Good point both of you... Now that I think about it, MAggie was insane when Beth was trying to kill herself and now she doesn't know where or who has her and she just writes her off... good catch. I really have not been a fan of her in the show so I kinda snooze on her character but Maggie is way out of character to just leave without making someone promise to look for Beth or something...

Didnt much care for the episode last night, but at least now we know what Beth was up to. Then, Carol being brought in at the end is going to tie things up.

I agree. I like how they're not dragging these conflicts out. I'm happy so far this half-season.

That episode was everything I feared it would be...ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!!! Beth is not an entire episode material! Easily the worst episode of the series! I wanted to fast forward through it. In a show about a zombie apocalypse, a hospital being run by a woman cop on a power trip in downtown Atlanta was the most unrealistic scenario in the show's history! Carole being wheeled in at the end was the only interesting thing that happened. I now have to make the black guy that escaped the leading candidate for the person hiding in the woods with Darryl. Once again, this episode, EPIC FAIL!!!

While I also did not care for the episode I was not quite as emphatic as JBA... not many people are... but yeah this was a throw away episode.

The show makes no qualms about everybody being "guest stars"... because there is not any characters that are in all episodes... so I think they have to have these types and that is another reason to split up the group. By keeping them all guest stars the union pay rate is less and they have less negotiation room for more money. Funny it all comes down to money ... huh never would have seen that coming.

Not too shabby of an episode. Flashbacks were a nice touch to give us a little more insight on Abraham. Glad that Eugene finally fessed up as a liar. It was best that they didn't drag that along any farther, because I don't think anyone watching this show thought for a second he had a cure. Was that Beth that Darryl was throwing in the fire?

Unless there is some other reason they haven't yet revealed, I'm not sure why they portrayed him as some sort of genius with the cure because nobody was buying it. I guess if you really wanted to make the audience believe he had a cure at least make him appear to be somewhat intelligent and not some Camaro Cut wearing hick who yelled "Roll Tide" on Saturdays.

They did the plotline with Eugene b/c that's straight from the graphic novel. I don't think they pulled it off anywhere close to correctly. They could have done a better job with his character, and could have made the reveal way more dramatic.

Anyone else think that Eugene or whatever the scientist or whatever he is, is a total fraud???

You would think he would mention to people how or why this happened, just in case he were to get killed. No mention of it. He looks like he has been sitting in his mom's basement with Lmitout for the last 15 years planning out world conquest.

I think he is a total poser and will end up being a janitor or blackjack dealer or something stupid.

I got caught up from last week, same as others I was deer hunting and missed last weeks show.

First, the beth story was a complete waste of an hour, ok now we know, but a whole hour was a bit much.

I've not read the story books so I don't know the character comparison. I think it presents a nice development for Abraham's character, Eugene is essence saved Abraham's life when he was going to kill himself. Eugene smart enough to recognize a military man plays on that trait for his own survival. I think that makes for good story telling and explains Abraham's loyalty to Eugene. A well done episode and I can't wait for tonights!

Just finished watching the last 4 episodes. First off, I couldn't believe the Terminites were taken care of this soon in the season. I thought for sure they were gonna make that last at least 1/2 the season. I agree, the whole Eugene thing was pretty easy to see but I still was hoping there was something behind it. As far as who was with Daryl...I'm gonna go way out there & say it's Carol's daughter, forgot her name. I thought the Beth episode was a little overdrawn but I think it's gonna play into the rest of the season.

Carols daughter was killed/turned way back when they were still at Herschel's farm. She was in the barn when Shane opened the door and let out all the walkers.
