WalleyeGod
NASCAR driver Kyle Busch offered a public apology Tuesday after he was ticketed for careless and reckless driving and speeding in North Carolina. Deputies said they clocked Busch doing nearly three times the posted speed limit, according to the Statesville Record and Landmark. Busch allegedly was clocked at 128 mph in a 45-mph zone while driving a yellow Lexus LFA, a two-seat sport coupe produced as a concept car and production model. "I was test driving a new sports car and I got carried away," Busch, who was stopped between the towns of Troutman and Mooresville, said in a statement. "I went beyond the speed I should have been going on a public road. I apologize to the public, my fans, sponsors and race teams for my lack of judgment. "I take responsibility for my actions, and I can assure you that something like this will never happen again." Not any more that day. bobbymalone
obviously you shouldn't be going that fast, but i suppose if someone had to be going 128mph I would rather it be a nascar driver than just some yahoo with more horsepower than brains. ... i take that back, I would rather it be an F1 driver unless the road only had left turns
lawdog
Now he'll be on double secret probation from NASCAR! Regular probation won't cut it anymore...What a dolt!

spearchucker
I think he is an [PoorWordUsage], but I would have done the same thing had I had a chance to drive that car, but I would have taken it to a rural area to do it.

mainbutter
I think it's only reasonable that for instances of doing triple the speed limit, the vehicle being used should be confiscated and sold at auction.

LMITOUT
Probably should look into the details first, gregg, before blowing it off because I think there are some that do care.Quote:MOORESVILLE, N.C. -- Iredell County resident Becky Haney drives to her daughter's house at Perth Road and Honeysuckle Creek Road every day. "I can't imagine driving fast on Perth." On that same corner, school buses stop and pick up kids. "My granddaughter gets on the bus right here," said Haney. It was at that same corner that an Iredell County Sheriff's deputy clocked NASCAR driver Kyle Busch going 128 mph south on Perth Road. "It's crazy, it's crazy," said Haney. "When I heard that, I thought 'oh my God, I can't believe the man did not, they let him go'."Busch says he was test driving a new Lexus 2012 sports car, and apologized for getting carried away. But a court record of his ticket indicates he told the deputy, "it's just a toy.""That's just total reckless operation and as far as I'm concerned, not caring about anybody else but one person," said Rick Dlugokecky, who also lives off Perth Road. He's got two teenagers who recently got their license. "And then, they hear and see this and it's kind of hard," said Dlugokecky. "Why do they have to obey, why should they do 45 mph when this guy is out here driving 128 mph.Besides getting a ticket for speeding over 80 mph, Busch also got a second Class 2 misdemeanor for driving carelessly and heedlessly in willful and wanton disregard of the rights and safety of others. In North Carolina, that's considered reckless driving."People are watching this to see what happens," said Dlugokecky. "Is he going to lose his license or is he just going to walk away with a fine? My opinion, he needs to lose his license."Speeding over 80 mph and reckless driving carry a mandatory court appearance in North Carolina, which for Kyle Busch, it's July 20, 2011. According to lawyers who handle traffic tickets, just the reckless driving citation alone is punishable by up to 60 days in jail, one year suspended license and $1000 fine. PierBridge
Any of us would have been arrested and the car towed for 83 over. Thats just plain stupid and of course kyle fits that bill to a tee.I do like the sold at auction idea but it's a leased car and Kyle would be handed another before the end of the day. Kyle has and always will be a spoiled little baby brat that thinks about nothing but himself. How about the lame excuse his publicist wrote for him...LOLUgly looking car for sure I don't know what the deal is with yellow cars is but man are they brutal looking. gregg52
its still a speeding and reckless driving ticketof course people will say ' what if " well if " what if" happens deal with it i personally dont think any body has lost there license in minnn for going over 80mph...i think ap of the vikes got caught twice over 80 didnt he??? i havnt read the state statues on speeding but as far as i know they are mismeadors with fines and jail time attached but jail time is very very seldom inacted for speeding...some 1st time DWIS dont even get jail as long as there are people, machines with power there is alway a risk of life it's a facr of life someone is always going to abuse the law thats why we have laws how some are treated does vary but thats a fact of life to you can wine till the cows come home if you want aint going to do much 128 is fast but we do have speed limits as high as 80 in the US
LMITOUT
Over 100 mph in MN and you can kiss your license goodbye.Peterson got busted doing over that but plead it down to 99mph. Convenient, eh? Goes to show that if you're a celebrity you can practically get away with murder. Oops, forgot about OJ and Ray Lewis. I guess you can get away with that too!If you saw the video of the road that Candyland was busted on it's not some back country road out in the cornfields. Race car driver or not, it was a bad situation and another bad decision by Candyland.
Mr.Seaguar
I had a station wagon that would do 150+. Cost me $200, money well spent. Hes got that and all he was doing was 128? Hice driving, Sally. If I had one and it wasnt going 200 of its advertised 202 I would tell them try again. Going fast is fun.

SledNeck
Busch should probably get life in prison. Maybe let a few molesters or rapists out to make room.
