pike doctor
I cant believe all of you donkey Junkson lovers. The guy threw 4 picks! Rice saved him on one. The Camirillo ball, he was lucky to even get his hands on it cause the pass was that bad. The D gave him all the field position in the world. I hope he does play the rest of the year so you guys can see just how bad he is against philly and chicago. They will massacre him. Bret didnt get ANY time to throw the ball all year. He had ZERO recievers to throw the ball to. And just how many tipped ball INTs did he have to take credit for.Farve will start on Sunday, just to keep the streak alive, and I think he will start every game for the rest of the year. I highly doubt that he will play that much anymore, but he will be back wearing the purple next year and he will look better than ever cause we are going to have a cream puff schedule. reinhard1
i agree with your assesment. you do have to take the whole game in context. with all of what you said, one game should not bring on this urge for jackson. the guy is where he is for a reason. farve is the best qb on the team and they will go with him the rest of the year. was jackson given a fair shake? well life is not fair. it's a proffesional game and i think jackson will be in this league for awhile as a backup or fighting for a starting job somewhere. he wont be broke anytime soon. i cant see farve in any uniform anytime soon after the season. will there be a season next year. good luck. harvey lee
Yes, this has to be Favre's last season. His body will not take another season with the hard hits he takes.Who will be the next QB is a guess for sure and that QB might not even be on the current staff. ANYFISH2
Jackson certainly wasn't brilliant out there on Sunday, but we finally scored (TD's) in the red-zone, finally were able to move the chains on third down when a throw wasn't open, legs on a quarterback sure is nice. In the first half Jackson did what he needed to do, run the offense and score. The defense was great and the coaches actually left jackson run an offense and not a watered down playbook, we won, it is a good sign. Favre will be our starter, but I certainly am ok with Jackson though, he can't play much worse than Favre has most of the season.
james_walleye
Tough day for the T-Jack bashers. All things considered T-Jack was OUTSTANDING especially considering he hasn't played in sometime. I don't buy into the notion that T-Jack has learned much at all watching Favre and believe he has been hurt immeasurably by not playing the the last 2 years. Plain and simple T-Jack gives us a better chance to win then Favre does right now! PERIOD! LOL outstanding?? I didnt know you could have an outstanding day while throwing 3 INT's. It might have been outstanding compared to most of the other games he has played....but outstanding is hardly the word for yesterday LOL. It absolutely was a microcosm of his career. He is a good athlete. He is mobile and makes nice plays with his legs. He makes some very nice throws. Seems to look like what he is doing at times. But then makes some of the awful throws like he did yesterday. It doesnt do any good to make those nice throws if you can't eliminate those awful throws. 3 INT's is NOT acceptable and is NOT part of any outstanding performance. I was bummed about those throws to. I was actually glad to see him on the field. After the initial INT he came out and looked good for a stretch. But we were then quickly reminded of reality. It would be nice to see him play solid mistake free ball for a stretch and to have the future of this franchise on the roster already, but i just dont think that is the case. I hope Junkson does play the rest of the season. If he isnt the answer, and im pretty sure he is not, then we can close the book on that chapter before we waste a year on him next season. I dont want to watch a whole season of "outstanding" 3 INT games......

PerchJerker
I agree the D looked great yesterday. It's great to play defense with a lead, especially a big lead. It's nice to rush the passer with a lead, especially a big lead. It hasn't been very often this year that the Vikes have had a 2-score-or-more lead.So what came first, the chicken or the egg? BRULEDRIFTER
I think the sad reality is I don't believe the Vikes really have much of a choice. Aside from Kolb (who will have one heck of a price tag on him.... and we puked away our #3 draft pick for next year and do we really want to give away our #1 & 2 for Kolb?), who else is out there? Sure we could draft a rookie QB, and I really hope we do, but do we really want him starting next year? Favre is DONE! He looks like the tightly coiled piles my dog leaves in the yard! I was relieved to see him gimp off the field and hope he never suits up again for the purple (wishful thinking I know). TJunk might as well play it out because I think, sadly, he's our best option for next season, if there is a next season. Unfortunately he won't because of the beeyotch that is Favre. Scott K
I didnt think Jackson played well, but the best thing for the team is to see how he can play in the future, so they can determine what to do with him for next year.
LMITOUT
So what came first, the chicken or the egg? A 2-9 team from Buffalo laid the egg. That's what came first.

ANYFISH2
I agree Buffalo is NOT a good team, but it is a team that has pretty much played every game close. Probably one of the best 2 win teams the league has seen, competitive wish. It is not a great win by the Vikes, but they did something nobody has done to Buffalo, beat the snot out of them! The vikes won how they haven't all year, as a TEAM! The defense created opportunities, the offense capitalized, and special teams held strong. Well it was as great of a win as they could have against a lesser teir team.

I've never been a big tjack supporter but yo talk about favre not having any time to throw the ball all year. don't ya think that age and inury played a big part of his not being able to move and that being part of him supposedly having no time all year? or was there a new and improved offensive line playing yesterday that for whatever reason decided to give the qb a little bit of time? Was on the ice so didn't watch the game myself but sure sounds like yesterday's game featured a qb who had similar stats and turnovers that we've come to expect from the qb position this year so what are ya complaining about? Favre after all has been brilliant hasn't he?
ANYFISH2
Pike, I will disagree that Favre isn't responsible for his play.1. I agree our line as a whole is not very good, Mckinney is having a good year, actually is propable preformed the best of all our linemen, including Huchinson. On top of that, Farve can't get out of the way of himself, he isn't able to avoid the rush anymore, his arm is fine, but it is hard to use if you can't buy time.2. Beginning of the year absolutely, now not so much Gerhart and Peterson have made great strides in protection.3. Absolutely correct!4. We will see how it plays out the rest of the year, up to this point I agree.
zepman
Favre will NOT be back next year...no way, no how. He won't even be under contract with the Vikes after this years finale. Even if he WANTS to come back...which he won't...the Vikes would politely decline and thank him for his services.
fishersofmen
Same goes for Farve. He has a lot left in the tank if you give him some time to throw the ball, and someone to throw it to. He will be back next year. Everyone on this thread is now dumber after reading that. You are correct zep this team will not be looking for his services after this season. The ONLY reason Frazier hasn't pulled the plug on him this year is respect for his carreer. The way he just stood in the pocket on that last hit, it resembled someone going into a nursing home and knocking to the ground an old man sitting in a wheel chair. Dave S
Jackson seemed to have all the time in the world compared to Favre to pass the ball on Sunday. Sure it was against the Bills but it only took that 2-10 team 3 plays to take out Favre. Seems there's more to the equation of frontline protection for the QB situation. As always, there's more to this story than what we know IMO. OLY
Favre= old, injured, and slowJackson= young, healthy, and athleticWith a terribly inconsistent and injured line I will take the young guy with mobility every time. Jackson is not a better quarterback then brent but he is a better quarterback for this team and it is just a shame brent didn't get hurt or benched earlier because we would still have a shot at the playoffs. Brent has done way more to hurt this team than he has to help it this year and that point is not even arguable.

hunter76
McKinnie is the worst offensive lineman we have! The guy is slooooow! I would still take Favre over Jackson any day of the week. T-Jack can run thats it
Surface Tension
It is a rare occasion when the Vikes have what it takes to bring a young QB along. You'll have forgotten what I say but I'll say it.If Jackson leaves next year I predict he will be back after success on another team.
