The guy camping next to me shot this buck. The pic does not do this deer any justice!

wish i would have got a pic of the big one i saw on the back of a truck, huge rack but didn't count points but both brow tines were split

Looks and sounds like the trophy buck lotto called "Ripley" paid off for some lucky hunters again.

That buck has 182 inches of gross antler, and it was his first deer with a bow.

Last year I found a sight that showed the final numbers and had pics of the big deer, can anyone tell me where I could find that

Seen a number of deer on stand. All does and fawns. None close enough for a shot. Also seen a number of hunters walking by me but thats what you get up there. Oh well, there's always next time.

It had either 13 or 14 points, I cant remember. They didnt know much about scoring antlers, so we did a quick tally. The man beams were 26 inches and it had a 20 inch inside spread. The G1 and 2s were roughly 11 and 9/34. The the circumfrence started at 6 and worked its way down but not much. Beautiful animal and from talking to him it couldnt of happened to a better guy.

Any advice on tent camping the second weekend?

Is the ground to hard for tent stakes?

Any of the camping areas better then another for tents?

Appreciate any advice you first weekers would have.

watched a group try to set up a tent on wednesday. when it wasw windy out. It was very funny. I should have gotten the camcorder out. They finally gave up and not sure what they did. I think I would sleep in my vehicle before I tented it but that is just me. Sandy soil-----wind and rain could prove to be a problem... Good luck we seen alot of deer and even got a poke and a nice one

You could tent it. There was a few that did. The lot is sandy so the stakes should go in easy.
