PierBridge
That had to be the toughest loss ever for Windy with his idol Jim Thome sticking the dagger in the heart of Sox fans!.....all 27 of them!
MinnesnowtaWild
Just wait, the Twins will lose one of the three games and when that happens he will jump all over the thread.
SledNeck
Just wait, the Twins will lose one of the three games and when that happens he will jump all over the thread. no, he'll start talking about drinking out of the stanley cup or looking at the prehistoric lombardi trophy
genegodawa
The beautiful thing for me and Windy about the Stanley Cup is that it's midway between the Cubs and WSox....for another 9 mos. or so.

DonBo
This isn't even any fun without Windy, but I say we take 2 of 3 and you can stick the fork in.

we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted September 13, 2010 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted September 13, 2010 I miss Windy too. But the only way to get Windy involved is for his teams to be winning. He can't deal with it when his teams are losing. Which is most of the time. At least the Sox gave him a tiny window so he could finally participate.
Scott K
This isn't even any fun without Windy, but I say we take 2 of 3 and you can stick the fork in. I agree with the fork in it, but I say we sweep them, then we can just use a big fork!
Nick Kuhn
I find the irony in all of this is how everyone, particularly Ozzie, was so happy to see the end of "Dome field advantage". Target Field has been a far greater advantage for the Twins than the Dome ever was.
PierBridge
1 of 3 and will still be enough. That's what I'm thinking or actually hoping for is one out of 3. We are due for a bit of a slump and the Sox will be fired up as all wounded animals are. I wouldn't be totally shocked if they swept us with as ice as our bats have been. solbes
Can't believe how well Crain pitched last night. Strikes out Konerko and Manny with bases loaded. I thought he had Rios too on a pitch that was a strike with some previous batters.Who's had a better 180 this year, Young or Crain?
thatoneguy
Great, great performance by Crain - an exclamation point on his remarkable turnaround this year. On the other side of the coin is Matt Guerrier. He just can't get anyone out in the second half, and Gardenhire needs to shut him down for a week or more to rest his arm and try to glue his confidence back together. Guerrier's numbers since July 1: July: ERA of 8.00, K/BB ratio of .5 (that's two walks for every strikeout) August: ERA of 5.27, K/BB ratio of .75 September: ERA of 3.00, K/BB ratio of 1.00, WHIP of 2.33 (that's more than two baserunners allowed per inning pitched - gawdAWFUL!) The only reason Guerrier's numbers aren't even worse is that Crain has pitched him out of jams on a few occasions. With 12 relief pitchers or whatever MN is carrying now, there is absolutely no reason for Guerrier to pitch in an important situation until he gets right. There's too much at stake, and he hasn't been able to get the job done for 10 weeks now. On the plus side, it was nice to see Span sting the ball every time up, Young break the ice with a big HR, and Kubel and Hardy come up with clutch hits. It was also really nice to watch Chicago kick the ball around in the field
10,000 Casts
wow did crain make manny look bad in the 8th!!! love it!!! I must say that I was a crain hater last year like most of us but man... has he turned it around this year! 88-90 mph sliders that he can throw for strikes.. enough said
PierBridge
It's not the 9th inning of the 7th game of the world series. It's one inning in one game in a 162 game 1500 inning season. I get the pressure and excitement is getting to a few of you who are not used to the heat in the kitchen but try to relax just bit. I'm pretty sure Gardenhire understands the game and how things work a bit better than you guys do.. We wouldn't even have a team if Gardy caved into all the complaining and 2nd guessing around here....seriously..
DTro
So yeah the Sox really battled it out in this series. The heart of a warrior! Way to step up at home guys!
