Favre-- Back or Not??

This guy is such a warrior, he doesn't want to be remembered for his last 2 mishaps in the postseason. Even at 40-41,, he can lead the Vikes to the SB. One more year of being with the WR corp ,, is SCARY.

No way a guy that played on one leg and was basically getting hit like a tackling dummy and stuck it out, is going to give up and call it quits after being this close. Favre is addicted to all Football offers,, and he's not going out like he's presenty identified as. (a choker).

If the Vikings can stay healthy next season and shore up the secondary, they will be a serious contender.

He exorcised some pretty big demons this year in beating Green Bay twice and finally the Cowboys in the play-offs. Statistically, he had his best year ever. I really believe he has nothing to prove to anyone and especially himself after this year. He showed everyone he's still one of the best q-backs currently playing and also of all time. He's a first ballot hall of famer and one of the best football players I've ever seen play...oh yeah, he's 40 years old.

Physically and mentally, he took a beating tonight...and it may be enough to keep him on that tractor year around. I'm the same age as Brett and I seriously think he's a freak of nature none of us will have an opportunity to see the likes of again. To do what he's done at the age of 40 is really unexplainable.

What's the chance of him having another season like this years...really? His ONLY reason for comming back would be to WIN the super-bowl...what's the odds on that? If he walks away now, I think he goes out like he'd want to be remembered...battling to the very end. For those reasons, I say he hangs up his cleats for good.

But.......next year would be his 20th year(nice round number) and someone said he's at 497 touchdowns for his career(500+ sounds better).....I guess we'll find out in September.

***If he does decide to come back, I sure hope the Vikes give him all the room and time-off he needs....just like this year.

I sure would like to see him back. Yep I'll eat my crow for my early season predictions. Sure was a pleasure watching him from this side of the ball. Showed a lot of heart and a lot of class witch fits in well with the rest of the team.

If he comes back, the vikes will have to adress the offensive line a bit, and get hims some decent protection, no reason he ended up on the ground so much this year, it is not all his fault.

Actually I think his protection was good this year. Az, Carolina, and NO were three games where he spent time on the carpet. That leaves a lot of games with pretty good pass protection.

Run blocking down the stretch, that's a different issue.

I see him either moving on or retiring for good. I would like to see him return though.

As much as I likes seeing him play here (he is one of the best to play the game) I don’t expect him back.

I think he gave it his all this year and he knows that. He got banged up a lot and looked very tired towards the end of the year. His mind might say yes, but his body will eventually fail.

I never realized what a tough sob favre really is until he came to the vikes. For the vikings sake I hope he returns otherwise it will be the same old queens as we all know

After watching him get beat down last night I vote no he doesnt come back. I'd like to see him come back but I think this was his last hurrah. I hope he doesnt keep everyone waiting and talking about this until the last minuite again.

I'm afraid he won't come back. He had such a good year this year, I think he might believe that they won't be able to match the magic next year and this gives him a chance to go out on top. Dude can flat out play the game, even at his age, and we were light years better this year with him than any of the other options we had. We need him back if we want to make another run, but i'd bet its 65-35 against him playing anymore...

I think the reason bradshaw has such a problem with favre is because he knows brett is better than he ever was bradshaw is very arogant.

I would like to add it seems that he was also a great leader off the field that this team has lacked for a long time. I dont think there were any really embarassing stories in the paper this year it seemed like all the players kept there nose clean that was nice. wether he comes back or not thanks for the fun #4

I hope we see him again next year. It was a lot of fun. I got more into the Vikings than I have for a long time. Sure, it helped they were winning. But they seemed to be having a great time playing the game out there, and Favre was a big part of that.

Either way though, we will get him for 1 more year at most. We have much bigger and longer term QB problems to take care of. We need to get a longer term solution quickly as we wont be able to retain the talent we have if we dont get them to the big game.

There's no reason to believe we won't win the north again next year, and make it to the NFC championship again. Saints will not be as good next year, cardinals are done if warner retires. Packers might be a problem, same with the cowboys. With favre we can go anywhere from 11-5 to 13-3 and get a 1st round bye.
