gundy89
Chilly calls you up monday morning looking for a replacement RB. You get 1 week of practice to learn the playbook and he's giving you 25 carries behind the Vikes Oline against a horrid bears defense. Assuming no health concerns, what does your stat line look like? For me: 25 carries / 53 yards / 1td / 5 days in the ice bath. I wouldn't break anything big but don't think I'd have many for a loss. lawdog
You are stoned if you think any non pro athlete can run for positive yardage in the NFL. 25 carries, -50 yards and life threatening injuries!EDIT: Oh and I forgot to mention I'm sure I'd fumble after at least half probably more like 2/3 of those hits! JBMasterAngler
I would take the snap, then drop to my knees due to the fact favre knocked the wind out of me while handing off the ball

Big Dave2
Favre would have already been sacked in the time it would take me to get to him to hand the ball to me!
croixflats
I think I would knock Favre down before he could turn around causing a fumble. Then I'd scoop it up and do Jim Marshal thing and McKinney would tackle me on the 5 yrd line. I would get up skinnier but wider.
Surface Tension
You have to be in great physical condition to take the hits that those guys give out. Then there is the strength and ability. At 51 years old, I'll have to pass on this one. High School football, lets go.
DTro
I'd look like Jim Marshall on the wrong way play except a whole lot slower.
paceman
Lets see I am 5-9 weight 165 lbs, run the 40 in about 5 seconds. The average NFL LB is prob 6-4, 260 lbs, runs the 40 in 4.5 seconds and plays mad. I think one hit by them and they would need a strecther/immobilizer to get me off the field. goss that just doesn't sound like a ton of fun.... jigging-matt
Get the ball, see 2-3 300 pound guys bearing down on you, throw the ball one way and go the other. . I liked playing during high school and after with friends in the park on a saturday, but They never hit like the pro's. I would be happy with 1 carry, negative yards, and NO FUMBLE. TR21HP
I did it 33 years ago and it hurt and with the added size and speed of the players now lawdogs assumption is correct, you are dreaming if you think you would rack up those kinds of stats against a modern day defense. Actually, there are quite a few NFL running backs who wish they could rack up those stats on a consistant basis.

Scott M
156 and 2 scores...and then I woke up. Anybody ever see the Sport Science episode where Ray Lewis destroys that tackle dummy on the run? Ouch! He generated enough force (F=MA) to equivalently break through some fairly thick material. I would guess Bass N Spear (played and weighed like Alstott in high school) could grind out 20 yards, but even he would take a beating
fishersofmen
I think I could grind out 10 yards on 25 carries, assuming I am still alive after being hit 25 times...
SledNeck
If Darren Sproles can do it, why cant I?

ozzie
I would run out of breath before I got into the huddle and they would have to call a timeout cause I am coughing to much then once we do run a play if it is inbetween the tackles I am fine to put my head down and fall foward hoping to not get killed by a linebacker gain of 1 yard and I would not see another carrie.......if they called for a sweep I would probably get lit up 3 yds deep and they would have to take me off on the cart cause if I wasn't hurt I would pretend so they would take me back to the locker room and I wouldn't have to walk!!!I use to play football and I use to be in shape......after high school I realized that it was dumb to get beat-up playing pick-up football and eventually became lazy growing a gut!! I am still pretty fast but not much conditioning..
fishyguy
If Darren Sproles can do it, why cant I? I am assuming because he is faster, quicker and more athletic. Or if you can, why don't you?
Coach1310
Oh..... If coach would only put me in... 25 carries.... well, I wouldn't need 25 carries because I would basically be busting a long TD run EVERYTIME.... BUT you said 25 carries.... so assuming an average field position of our own 30 yard line AND due to the fact we will run the ball on first down EVERYPLAY... I would have to say that amounts to..... 25 carries for 1750 yards and 25 TD's and just for the heck of it, you might as well throw in a couple of 2 pt conversions while I leap over the pile...... This one's for you da_chise31!
klecker
They would have to stack ten in the box to stop me. As I took the hand off the entire d would put the mad dash to kill me. As i ran right I would throw the ball back to farve and he would hit rice for a 80 yrd td. I would be near dead due to having next to 3000 pounds on top of me. During halftime the following week the team would add my name to the ring of honor.
koonie
I'd probably take the handoff and drop kick.
