portable radio?

just wondering what you guys do for a radio in a portable fish house?

$15 Sony I got about 15 years ago,takes 4 AA battries and running lithiums I get better than a year out of. Nothing fancy but it works and is small.

I use a rechargeable weather radio. Small speaker so 3 AA's will last 8-10 hrs. Full charge on the internal batteries is another 6-8 hrs. And when it finally dies it has a dynamo crank 2min crank lasts 20-30min. You can also hook up a cellphone via connecters so you can use the crank to charge your phone.(never used this option.) small and light weight. LOVE IT!

I use a shortwave radio that takes 2 c batteries that last forever. That way i have am/fm and my short wave stations for some good old fashioned preaching.

c-crane, hands down the best. during the twins drive at the end got to listen to the sox beat the tigers on detroit and chicago stations. actually picked up the kansas city play by play as well, my radio made me appreciate how good our broadcasters are.

I think I have the same thing as hotime. It is a eton fr300. It's a bit spendy ($50), but the led lights, cellphone charger, weather band, and dynamo crank are worth it. Sure I don't use them much, but you never know when something like a dead cell phone or a weather forecast check could mean the difference between life and death out on the ice.

Before the digital TV switch it would pick up TV station audio too .

They aren't waterproof, but they are water resistant. Mine fell face down in an ice hole and survived with no lasting effects.

i used to have a nokie cell phone that had a built in radio tuner that worked slick. i wished the one i have now had that as well...so i just opt for the mp3 player with an external speaker

Dewalt work station radio and battery charger stick in a 9 volt or anything up to 18 volt battery and theres your radio

Ipod with external speakers that I bought in 1992. Although if someone is fishing too close to me, they get the full throttled singing voice. I've been told that (at my best) I sound like a yodeling farmer.

i use my dewalt with an 18volt batt and that lasts all weekend without shutting it off. i'll sometimes take the sirius along as well. My wheelhouse has a built-in car stereo and speakers.

I like cheap ones. Somebody always drops it or gets water on it so as long as it picks up the wild playing and KQ im happy.

I used to have a Durband $5 one. Broke the antenna and went to go find another one and they don't carry them anymore. I will have to look into the shower radio.

I have tried several CHEAP ones but I have songs on my phone that I play, however when Gophers basketball is on I try to dial into WCCO on one of the radios and use my metal ice scoop on the antenae to improve reception!

I used the Eaton radio too, until I found a combo tv/fm/weatherband at the local Goodwill for $5.
