Also here's the bow doe in the truck headlights, not a very good pic. I saw her fall in the hayfield, so I just waited until dark in case a big boy came by.

He sure is lucky. This year he shot his first turkey with a 9.5" beard, his first goose (flying) and now this buck.

The older brother missed a tom with his bow (arrow hit the blind).

While duck hunting we discovered the "2nd weekend" was CLOSED! (split season). Got back to shore before shooting light.

He has yet to see a deer on the bowstand. I'm hoping Ripley will be nice to him this weekend!

Oh well, at least we had the cover last year. :-)

I've been trying to top this guy for six years, came close once. He's 149 and 6/8ths with a 22 inch spread. The other picture was last years take on the farm...just south of Rush Point

My son scored a nice 10 pointer right away this morning and followed up with a 5 minutes later. Not a bad way to start the season.

Dude, way to go my friend. My son can hunt next year and I'm thinking about building a box stand so I can (logistically) help him and take my daughter (who will be 7) with. Way to get the kids involved. I started hunting at 28 and had no experience. Learned everything myself. Lots of trial and error. I am looking forward to sharing this tradition with my kids like you have.

Yeah I'm working to get my son one but he isn't having any luck. Small buck snuck in on him this morning but busted him before he could shoot.

They're dropping like flies around us, but not much luck for boy #2.

I missed a coyote this am and then called a forkhorn across the river, but he saw us before we saw him coming up the bank. No deer again.

Nothing real big for the son and I. But, for not having any Doe tags in camp this year. We are feeling pretty good about both getting the only Deer in our camp of 9 guys this opening weekend.
