If they win tonight, and get a sweep tomorrow, Detroit might just fold it up. They have quite a few vets but they also have seen MN roll by them at the end before...

I respect Leland as a Mgr but he let them get passed up before (they still won the WC, I know) BUt they shoudl have closed this thing up weeks ago and now they have to turn it on and... we'll see.

Go Twins!

I had people telling me I was a moron because I thought the Twins shoulda looked into bringing Pudge in as a backup catcher/DH.

The movie Major League 2 was horrible, but a situation in it reminds me of the Twins/Redmond relationship, Lou told Taylor he should hang it up, but would keep him on as a coach, same should be done here. Having Redmond as a backup takes away the potential to have one more decent bat on the bench

Bad day for the haters on this site. Cuddyer hits a home run, Young is two for three, and Crain gets the win to bring the Twins within two games of the Tigers. How can they live with themselves? Oh ya, Punto was Ofer. Saved the hater's day.

Thank You ULT. He may get to 30 dingers.

Like said everyone has to contribute now. Punto has been better, Delmon is stepping up as best as he can (still needs some work).

3 games out with 13 to play. BIG improvement since last week. Detroit looked a liitle scared on Saturday nite. Are they choking a bit, ??? Time will tell this week.

Hey Gary....Do you think anybody else noticed this????

Michael Cuddyer was named American League Player of the Week on Monday. In six games, three against each Cleveland and Detroit, Cuddyer hit four homers, drove in 11 runs (two four RBI games) and went 7-for-24 with two doubles and an .875 slugging percentage....

Hes not the main reason

Top 4 or so probably. Number 1 is the starting pitching is now where Gardy wanted it to be in April. Number 2 is our bullpens not blowing games. #3,4,5,6,7 all have to do with the position players, both defensively and at the plate. The Twins look like a TEAM now.

Main reason is.. and I know most will disagree is CARL PHOLAD!

Number 2 is one Michael Cuddyer you'd have to be on moon to not see this clear as day...PERIOD!

Also of note just to rub in one last jab.... NEVER, EVER use the words CLUTCH and Michael Cuddyer in the same sentance... grin

There are many key reasons to why this team is still in the hunt. The resurgence of the pitching staff is big. Mauer is having a huge year and Morneau was great for a large portion of the year but I don't understand how anyone can not include Cuddyer in the discussion.

Cuddyer is having a monster year on his own while often times providing the protection in the lineup Mauer, Morneau and Kubel needed. There would be a big hole in the lineup without him. It is arguable that he may not be the biggest reason the Twins are in it this season but he is the biggest reason they have not fallen out of the race these last couple of weeks.
