Hats Off To This Guy!!!!!!!!!

Last Saturday I was with the neighbors looking for sunnies on Centerville Lake. We noticed some guy driving all around the lake on a 4-wheeler. He'd stop every once in a while and then move on. Upon closer inspection we saw he had 2 buckets strapped to his wheeler and he was picking up trash that some SLOBS had left on our lake. I'd just like to make a public thank you to this guy and let him know that his work is appreciated!

There are several events planned around the state that fellow FM'ers put on to clean up our lakes. Most events/GTG's are posted in the regional forums, and everyone is welcome to lend a hand. Thanks to all who put these together, and also to those that attend and help pick up.

I always try to pick-up garbage when I go by it on the lake....in fact a couple years ago I was walking of Blue Lake and picking up garbage as I walked by it and a CO was out and behind me and the next week in the Outdoor News he mentioned it in the CO reports!! I don't always bring a garbage bag but I will throw it in the back of the truck or if I have a minnow bag I always seem to fill it.....

I would feel bad if it was a lake home owner picking up after them slobs so I'll do what I can. No reason for the lake home owners to be responsible to clean up their back yard when they didnt create the mess that was left behind.

Funny how people always seem to have the room to haul everything out with them, but when it's time to leave they can't seem to find room for all their trash.

Kudos to the guy making the effort to clean up a after the slobs!

Way to go to everyone who helps clean up! Thank you!

I once cleaned up a parking area on a trout stream in SE MN. Technically the parking area is on private property, but the area has an easement for fishing. I was picking up junk when the land owner happened to come by. He thanked me for picking up, and we got to chatting. When he was getting ready to leave, he mentioned that if I ever wanted to hunt his land, to knock on the house door. He said that if I cared about picking up the trash that he knew I'd take care of his land. I'm not a hunter, so I never took him up on it, but it sure was a nice gesture.
