Today we salute you Mr. "I don't care what I look like any more funny hat wear-er." You've given us the real American dream. Are you concerned about impressing a girl? NO! Are you worried you might embarrass your wife and kids while shopping at the mall? NO! Are you concerned you smell too much like an old man after shaving? NO!

So here's a question for you Mr. "I don't care what I look like any more funny hat wear-er"

Mad Bomber or Stormy Kromer?

Mad Bomber all the way, i got a Rabbit Mad Bomber hat as a gift 22 years ago, and it's the warmest hat i have ever used. Besides you get the ability to embarress the wife when out in public as you look like a Russian from Siberia.

Kromer.

I have done the Mad Bomber thing in the past, you guys can have em. I choose the Kromer, Red and Black Wool.

Might look like "an old mans hat" but it is much more usable and versital than the bomber. -20 to 50 just the right amount of heat, cant say that about the bomber. It has a bill so you can use your clip on light, again a no on the bomber.

There are other reasons, but I dont think I can tell you all of them, some need to be learned on your own. wink

I own and use both......this week it has been the bomber, most days it is the Kromer. The wife hates both, I have been told I can't wear the kromer out in public, which I do on purpose.

I like the kromer better than the bomber, but the bomber is warmer. I actually own two Kromers, kid at Gander MT. didn't know or care how he rang them up. I saw in Cabelas that they make Kromers with longer ear covers, that will be my next hat

I have a bomber and I can't wear it. It's too bloody warm. If I'm doing any kind of activity even in sub zero I sweat with it on. Don't have a stormy but I think I'd try that before I put on another bomber.

Bomber hats are great for long sedentary days outside on the ice, but they can be a little too warm if you're moving around a lot.

I've become a fan of the army surplus helmet liner with the long velcro straps that link up below your chin. Great coverage and extremely stylish!

Saw a dude up at LOW with a full coyote hat with the tail and legs hanging down. That was both stylish and warm from the looks of it. He got a $500 offer for it and he declined.

I have a 20 year old russian looking bomber and it now smells a little funny. I retired it but it's very warm and stylish.

I now have a brown Carhart looking one and I can't hear anything and it's too warm for anything but standing still.

I picked up a Kormer for my son and he loves it.

Who cares what you look like!

My 16 year old son wears his mad bomber all of the time fishing. He loves it! Interesting that a week or so ago he wore it on a cold night over to the snowboarding/ski shop and he got drilled by all of the snowboarders about where he got it!! He had no idea how "cool" they are now to the youngsters. Tell your wives you are just trying to stay trendy!

Of course, I wear a tight knit hat (from Harty's bait shop on Medicine)or an Underarmor skull cap that I got for X-mas and love. I guess I'm just not trendy enough!

I've gone through 2 Mad Bombers...my first one -a nice white one with grey fur- the cat got, and my second one-a nice brown leather one-I lost on the trail coming back from Franklin Lake way up north. cry They are great hats.

I wear a toque from Duluth Pack now.

When we're on the way to the mall and I've got my toque and my full length mukluks on...I get the look! eek

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
