Here's a nice one from this weekend!   I only had 2 hours to fish so kept it close to home.   Went to a lake I hadn't been on yet this year.  Started marking fish on a deep cabbage edge in 13-15' of water.  Small tungsten jig with crawler got this one to bite.   All fish were released.

I took FisherDog out a few times while he was up from Florida....he used to be a Moderator on the site and a great contributor to the site back in the day when he lived in the Detroit Lakes area....now that he purchased a summer place on Big Pine near Perham I am sure he will be back posting starting next year. We fished on lakes in both Ottertail County and Becker County and it was lights out.  100's of crappies on the outside weed edges and some real dandies...I got a 16" tying my PB.

Here are a few nice ones from Saturday morning.  Big Gills were definitely on the chew.   I found them stacked right up on a deep cabbage edge in about 12-13' of water.   Vertical jigging 1/16th ounce skirt jigs tipped with a full leech did the trick.  Many fish exceeded that 10" mark.   All fish were released

Seems like those big panfish really like the leeches.

Had a couple hours to burn this morning so what better way than to go chasing gills! The usual 11-13' cabbage edge was holding fish but not the size I was looking for. So knowing that there are bigger fish in the system I knew it was time to move a little and find the pods of bigger fish. While it took a little while to get on the size I was looking for, once I did it was game on. Found them shallower buried right in the cabbage in 8-9 feet. Big fish are always biting somewhere. You just have to find them.

I've had my little hooligans out quite a bit this year. Lots of nice sunfish and the occasional crappie. I'm just training them for the future!
