Goals 2007

Ok, so last year we had a post on goals. Some of us went with a counter to see how many fish we could catch, some of us set goals with how big a fish or the number of times we went got out fishing. Some of us set our goals to learn a new technique...

So, lets hear it! What are your goals this season?

I'll start.

I had a good time last year with my little clicker. I am going to keep track again. I was no where near my goal last year of 1000 bass(I only caught just short of 700 for the season) but I was not disapointed, I just didn't get the concept of how many fish caught was 1000... Size wise I was very happy as well as I caught big fish. And I also was able to get a lot of friends out fishing too...

This year as I said. I am going to keep track of number again, just for myself. Its a fun stat. I also want to keep track of what I caught them on. It will take more time, but might be worth it? I hope to do well in tournaments this year. I am fishing the USA bass series with Bullwinkle from this web page.. and my goal is to win 1 of the 5 tournaments. I also want to fish with my friends, And get as many signed Dollars as I possibly can(my bet with people in my boat for big fish on the day)...

Alrighty boys.. what are your goals for the 2007 season?

New technique (or in my case still learning from last year) Catching fish on jigs and Texas rigs. I'm having a devil of a time figuring it out but I'm going to keep trying until I get it.

mine would be to get better at deep water fishing(as drop shot, and weedlines,I fish them for a time then it starts my flippin stick calls me and then i go to the slop,Ithink i should just take one rod a hand full of hooks, weights, and worms and just work a weedline for a few days until i get it down. any help would great thanks.

1) have more fun, which for me means less competition. Although I generally strive under stress, I'd rather just relax more.

2) bring the kids and wife fishing more and help them become better fishers.

3)The deep weedline texas rig stuff. I'm changing home lakes this year hopefully it helps.

My primary goal is to keep my 5 year old interested in fishing. He did pretty well last year. You'd be surprised how many bass will hit a little purple senko under a bobber! laugh.gif

My big fish goal is a bonafide MN 6 pounder.

As far as tournaments go, I am fishing midwest sportsman again this year and my goal is to be around the right fish each tournament to win. If I can do that, winning one or more is a possibility and I should have a good shot at angler of the year.

Two goals:

1) Get some confidence in a jig & pig

2) Drop shot more than I did last year

I catch lots of bass fishing for fun and in tourny's but not with these techniques. I need to use them and get some confidence to use them in my tourny's.

continue learning the structure on my local lakes, catch a MN 6 lb'er, meet DERICK REMITZ my fellow east rush fisherman who is on FIRE and find out how to catch more fish in the dog days of summer. After about the second week in July, i just cant seem to put it together!

This year my primary goal is to run a successful tournament series for USA Bassin. It will be the first year that we have run a series here in MN and I am really looking at getting it right!! Fun yet competitive!! If people are interested, do a google search for USA Bassin and look at the MN division. Hey Deitz, saw one of your goals was to win at least 1 of the 5 ... rumor has it that you have predicted a sweep crazy.gif. That brings me to goal number 2, beat Deitz in at least one of the tournaments smile.gif. As far as learning techniques I would like to do some swim bait fishing and fish the deeper jigs more successfully.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
