What Trips do you have planned for this year?

Recommended Posts

The only trip so far that's officially 'planned' is the annual trip to the BWCA out of Lake One. I'll also be hitting a few lakes along the Fernberg Road.

The beauty of it all is, I travel statewide for work, so you never know where I'll end up. So far planned for the year is the Knife R, Dark R., LOW.... And when I get home from work, I can fish the fabulous lakes of Detroit Lakes. It's a rough job but somebody has to do it grin.gif

Have the normal three big weekends planned (7to9 days each) to locale camp grounds, the furthest being 43 miles. All the camp grounds are on lakes and have several more with in 15 to 20 min. so it's a matter of picking one when I get up. There will be a couple club weekend funtions on a lake and as meny 3to 4 day weekends as we can fit.

July= St. Croix bull gills and crappies with a trip or 2 to Algoma after the kings

Oct= bowhunting and St. Croix crappies and eyes

Nov= Mille Lacs trolling, hunting Wisc, and wading for walleyes around Forest Lake

Dec= first ice eyes Forest Lake & Mille Lacs

January= LOW, Mille Lacs and local eyes

February=Mille lacs eyes and perch

March=early perch on Mille Lacs and hopefully repeat the sequence. It is an unusual year for me this year and my wife has been very understanding. I have to believe that at some point I will run out of kitchen passes but with 3 little ones coming into the fishing age who knows! I am hoping to swing a trip to Great Slave Lake for some of those huge lakers in a year and a half. I may have to forego the Algoma trips that year as the open water season is real limited up there and only lasts a month & 1/2-2 months. Looking foreward to the open water season! Sounds like you guys have some great time on the water ahead of you! Good luck to all of you!

I bet I'll go as far away as Bald Eagle Lake.. and maybe.. just MAYBE.. Forest Lake.....

But seriously.. besides staying in my home area for most of the season.. I will be spending at least 2 or 3 long weekends camping/boating in the Wabasha area... (we usually tent at Hoksila in Lake City).. not just for fishing, but also simple fun and exploration of the river backwaters with the kiddies. Snake hunting too of course (Nelson, WI area)... I catch Massassaga and Timber rattlers here every summer.. and Fox Snakes, Hognose snakes, and many others... C&R of course.. they make for great photos and reptiles are my other cold blooded interest!

Ummm, opener in the metro area, a trip to Red Cedar in WI with my dad and brother (first time ever!), and a trip in early august to Dumbbell and other lakes in that area. Would love to hit Vermillion, but two youngin's at home, I just can't swing it this year, maybe in 15 years when the youngest goes to college.........

every year, second weekend of fishing, I look forward to staying on west sealy bay on cut foot sioux and have 3 full days of fishing on winnibigosh. We have about 4 to 5 boats and a few campsites. I'm going to Grand Cayman and Las Vegas this year, but nothing compares to how excited I get prior to second weekend on lake winnie - a zillion different spots to try and usually good fishing.

May 10th-August 19th, Sitka Alaska. I will be a deckhand for 3+ months on a charter fishing boat out of Sitka and can't wait! I have hardly been out of the state of Minnesota in my life and can't wait to spend an entire summer in the true definition of God's country!
