Well I know this is a fishing HSOforum but im so excited i have to post it. My fisrt child was born saturday. We named him Ty. I can hardly wait to teach him about hunting / fishing etc. I had to miss the ice event on winni but it was a good trade-off. Adam

congrats Adam! You had me thinking when I saw your title to your post. I thought that thing had to be built like a football to weigh 8lbs and only be 20.5" long grin.gif

There's nothing better than snuggling with your little tike watching fishing shows on a Saturday morning.

Congradulations; I couldn;t wait to get to your post to hear about your catch, that is better than any walleye you will ever catch, don;t miss any chance to be with him.ourbaby is 30 years old and I first took him fishing when he was about 5, the memories of fishing with him are priceless, we have fished together for the last 25 years, all I can say is get him hooked on fishing, teach him well, teach c&r, and have a good ride. wink.gif

Yeeeee Haaaaa congratulations ATM on a fine catch! My youngest of three just turned 21 this month. You gotta hell-of-a roller coaster ride comming let me tell ya. N Joy the little tyke as many hours in a day as you possibly can! Hint from lessons learned... take many pictures. As life happens day to day things dont change much but all of the sudden they are 12 and you realize you only have Christmas and birthday pictures of them. Take care and N Joy Fatherhood././Jimbo

Congratulations Adam!

Have you decided on a new rod for the tyke yet? I'm thinking a St. Croix Legacy with a higher-end Shimano should be a good starter outfit!

My wife almost passed out, and I had an ear-to-ear grin when my 13 year old came in and asked nonchalantly to "borrow" my portable house and chisel on Saturday. He and a friend decided they needed to do a little fishing. Yep, looks like the training has taken hold.

Congratulations!!! Nothing will ever compare in your life anymore!! Took my 3 year old daughter on the ice for the first time last weekend. She had a blast, didn't care if we caught fish or not, but we were together, fishing, having the time of our lives!! Cherish the moments that seem insignificant at the time. I still look back on a picture of me and my week old daughter sleeping on my chest, and my shorthair in the chair with us. Was our morning ritual for the first couple weeks after the morning feeding to let mom get some rest. Seems like yesterday, and it was 3 1/2 years ago!! ooo.gif
