Anyone shooting their bows? Shed hunting? Working out in prep for the upcoming season? Any new equipment that's worth sharing? Big plans for the upcoming Fall?

What's up in your archery world?

We just passed half way of our animal leagues. My partner and I won the first half, so we are guaranteed a spot in the shoot-offs.

I've been pretty worthless this winter. With the cold and snow I just can't get myself motivated to pull out the bow. Every spare minute I have has been spent working on remodeling my home, so I haven't had a chance to go to the gym, take a walk in the woods, or even go ice fishing frown But, it's warming up and the remodel is almost complete, so by the second week in April I'll be moved back into my house which will not only give me time to shoot when it's nice, but also give me a basement to shoot in when it's not.

With 1st season turkey coming up I need to start shooting again! I also need to hit the gym. I've lost a lot of ground since last fall and it's going to really suck making it back up!

I really wanted to attend Don's class this spring, but there was just no way I could possibly make it work. I'll have to try to catch the next one.

Shootin' arrows in the basement, need to head out to a longer range soon. Twenty yards is nice and all, form is down pat, just need to apply that to 30 to 50 yard targets.

My new blind just arrived at Cabelas, pickin' it up in the morning. Just about Turkey ready. More practice on the calls.

Sorry Don I was down in redwing slamming some saugers today,it was nice to be back in the boat on open water again. Gordie and I didn't think to text you till we were 5 miles from your shop to see if you wanted to go. I will try and swing the Sunday shoot but I have fished the last 4 days and the wife might need me around.

This winter hasn't been a good one for ice fishing although I did get the kids out a couple times. I've been shooting league's a couple nights a week and whenever time allows during the day. I plan to give MN turkeys a try this spring with the bow and an over the counter tag. Hopefully I can find an extra dumb gobbler looking for love.

Working out the body everyday, prepping for the upcoming turkey, deer and whatever other hunts I can pull off this year.

Shooting hunters league every week, I am in 4th place with just a few points separating the top 5 (always seem to wing an arrow every night)

Wife has taken over the top spot in her division and shooting lights out.

Have our 3rd indoor 3D shoot this weekend in Faribo and might be heading to Chilakoot on Sunday, depends on the weather. Sorry Don, when it comes to 3D's, I am a fair weather shooter. grin

We are hoping to jump on the wheelers and head on out to do some shed hunting in our local woods we hunt.

Doing some talking with other local farmers that we might be able to hunt their land this year. Former hunters messed up their chance by leaving garbage and other items in the woods.

Really just enjoyimg life as it comes.

OK, who am I fooling? Its all about archery hunting. LOL

No better approach than that!!!

I thought I was doing pretty good, but by the sounds of it I'm losing some ground on some of you guys! It's funny, it's easy to assume people aren't doing much when there's no chatter going on in here. Obviously that's not true. Great work fellas! I've finally rehabbed my shoulder and knee to the point where I can shoot and work out more than I have been. I had three workouts in a row where I 1) hurt my knee, 2) pulled my groin, and 3) hurt my knee. In total those three workouts had me on the sidelines for about six weeks. However, all seems to be OK now, so hopefully this old bod' can hold together for a while without another doctor's visit.

Shooting my bow more and more. However, top priority for shooting a bow right now is for my son-- he's going to chase turkeys in MN this year. Should be interesting...

Just purchased my Mt elk and deer lic yesterday and put in for the draw. The area I will hunt is 100% draw for bull elk tags but I would love to also draw a buck mule deer tag for that area. My friend that lives there says he will beat me if I draw that tag and won't let me shoot a mule deer under 180"

Atta boy Sniper!!! I hope you go and have a great hunt! Is it an elk first, muley second hunt or vice versa? How long will you be gone for? Hunt from a basecamp or pack in somewhere?

Regardless, that should give you some motivation for shooting and working out this Summer!

My plan right now is 14 days hunting and a day travel each way. We will be hunting from my friends cabin for elk and mulies if I draw a buck tag. If I don't get the mule deer buck tag it is still good for a whitetail buck and we can hunt some ranches in the vally he has permission for. I will go for elk first and if I get a crack at a good buck I will take it. This will be my first elk trip and first mule deer trip in the mountains,I took a mule deer back when I was in high school with my bow in Wyoming.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
